About the role
Accountabilities
- Lead the execution and daily management of alluvial mining operations targeting niobium and tantalum-bearing concentrates.
- Oversee extraction activities in river-based and alluvial deposit environments while maintaining safe and efficient field operations.
- Manage mineral processing and concentration systems, including gravity separation circuits, magnetic separation equipment, and electrostatic separation technologies.
- Direct water management activities to support operational continuity, responsible resource use, and environmental compliance.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams spanning mining, mineral processing, maintenance, security, and HSE functions.
- Ensure effective operations in remote locations with limited infrastructure, logistics, and supply support.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with local communities through transparent engagement, workforce integration, and responsible operational practices.
- Ensure appropriate traceability and responsible sourcing practices for strategic and sensitive mineral supply chains.
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve mineral recovery, concentrate quality, productivity, and overall field efficiency.
- Identify operational risks and implement practical measures to maintain continuity, safety, compliance, and performance.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in mining operations, with documented experience in alluvial or river-based extraction.
- Proven experience working with heavy mineral sands, coltan-bearing deposits, niobium, tantalum, or comparable mineral processing environments.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of gravity separation systems, magnetic separation circuits, and electrostatic mineral separation technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage operations in remote, infrastructure-limited environments with complex logistical requirements.
- Experience managing large-scale water systems and implementing environmentally responsible site practices.
- Strong operational leadership skills with experience coordinating multidisciplinary field teams.
- Experience managing community-facing relationships and engaging effectively with local stakeholders and workforces.
- Understanding of responsible sourcing, mineral traceability, and compliance expectations applicable to strategic and sensitive mineral supply chains.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of operational priorities, and maintain high standards in challenging field conditions.
