Process Engineer
About the role
Job Summary:
The Process Engineer, Partner Integration is a newly created role on the Partner Integration team. Working alongside the Director, Partner Integration and the New Partner Strategy & Success team, this individual enters post-LOI conversations with incoming partner firms to understand how they operate, including client service workflows and the technology that supports them, and maps that understanding onto Mercer Advisors' operating architecture. Because no prior template exists for this work, the Process Engineer will build the framework as the role evolves, giving the firm a more deliberate, sequenced approach to integration. The goal is to move post-close integration away from reactive, incremental change and toward organized, well-timed releases that both partner firms and internal teams can anticipate and plan around.
Essential Job Functions for this role include:
- Participate in post-LOI discovery conversations with newly acquired partner firms to understand their existing operations, workflows, and technology
- Document each firm's current-state processes and systems, and translate that information into Mercer Advisors' operating architecture and technology stack
- Identify gaps, dependencies, and risk areas between a partner firm's operating model and Mercer Advisors' target-state processes
- Build and continuously refine a repeatable framework and toolkit for evaluating and onboarding new partner firms, since this discovery process does not currently have a standard playbook
- Partner with Legal, Finance, Operations, Technology, and Leadership to translate discovery findings into a planful, sequenced integration roadmap
- Group post-close changes into organized "releases" rather than continuous incremental adjustments, helping partner firms anticipate and prepare for change
- Travel to partner firm locations as needed to conduct onsite discovery and support integration planning
- Maintain clear, organized documentation, including process maps, systems inventories, and workflow diagrams, for use across the deal team and partner integration team
- Serve as a subject-matter resource on Mercer Advisors' core operating systems (including Aspen) as they relate to partner firm integration
- Support change management and communication with partner firm teams as they transition into Mercer Advisors' operating model
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree required; related certification (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PMP) a plus
- Demonstrated experience in business process documentation, workflow design, systems evaluation, and technology implementation
- Experience in wealth management, RIA, or financial services strongly preferred; familiarity with Mercer Advisors' operations and the Aspen platform highly preferred
- Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM/deal management platforms a plus
- Strong analytical skills; able to absorb complex, sometimes incomplete information and translate it into clear, actionable plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build rapport with newly acquired partner firms during a sensitive transition period
- Organized and detail-oriented; able to create structure and repeatable process in areas where none yet exists
- Comfortable working without a defined playbook; this role will require building structure alongside doing the work
- Willingness and ability to travel to partner firm locations as needed
- Prior experience supporting M&A integration or a similar acquisition environment a plus
Work Schedule:
This professional role operates Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM, with flexibility for early or late hours as client and business needs arise. Regular travel to partner firm locations is a core part of the work.
Working Conditions:
This position may be based in a professional office or a dedicated home office environment. Basic technology needs will be provided. The role involves routine sitting and standing; no heavy lifting over 10 lbs. is required. Travel to partner firm locations is an ongoing and expected part of this position.
Application Deadline: The initial deadline for applications is 9/15/2026. Applications submitted after this date may still be considered on a rolling basis until the position/program is filled.
