About the role
Accountabilities:
- Lead Workday Financials solutions: Resolve complex client requirements through tailored Workday Financials configurations and functional solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Provide functional expertise: Apply deep knowledge of Workday Financial Accounting, including Customer Accounts & Contracts, Banking, Cash Management, Supplier Accounts, Procurement, General Ledger, Chart of Accounts, Projects, and Expenses.
- Lead client discovery: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand existing financial processes, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business requirements into effective Workday solutions.
- Configure and prototype: Design and configure Workday tenants, develop prototypes, demonstrate solutions to clients, and support testing and validation activities.
- Architect financial solutions: Design and implement Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM) and Financial Accounting solutions, including Chart of Accounts transformations.
- Support full-cycle implementations: Contribute to implementation activities across discovery, design, configuration, conversion, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Manage project delivery: Partner with Engagement Managers and PMO teams to support successful project outcomes, participate in workstream meetings, provide status updates, and lead cross-functional sessions.
- Analyze financial information: Review financial data and reports to identify trends, opportunities, and areas where processes can be improved.
- Support business development: Participate in customer and prospect discovery sessions, helping communicate solution capabilities and address complex financial requirements.
- Drive innovation: Partner with leadership on internal initiatives designed to improve deployment methodologies, consulting practices, and client outcomes.
- Share expertise: Participate in training, knowledge-sharing, and professional development activities while contributing product and industry expertise to the broader consulting team.
- Manage multiple engagements: Balance priorities across several client projects while maintaining high standards of delivery, communication, and customer service.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Workday expertise: 5+ years of Workday Financial Management implementation or functional experience, with Workday Financials certifications and/or relevant Workday Partner experience.
- Consulting experience: 9+ years of financial consulting experience and 5+ years of consulting experience, with at least 5 full-cycle Workday implementations.
- Financial architecture: Proven experience architecting Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM) and Financial Accounting solutions and transforming organizational Charts of Accounts.
- Workday technologies: Proficiency with Workday data conversion tools such as EIBs, Workday Studio, and iLoad, as well as Workday reporting and integration capabilities.
- Financial systems: Experience working with multiple financial applications and legacy HR, payroll, or financial systems.
- Business process knowledge: Strong understanding of financial processes and the ability to evaluate existing workflows and recommend practical improvements.
- Client leadership: Ability to communicate effectively and build credibility with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior customer and prospect leadership.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to solve complex functional challenges and translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Communication: Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to explain technical and functional concepts clearly.
- Project management: Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and engagements simultaneously.
- Customer focus: Strong commitment to customer service, collaboration, and delivering measurable client outcomes.
- Adaptability: Comfortable operating in a consulting environment with multiple priorities, changing requirements, and diverse client needs.
