About the role
About the Role
Mission Lane is combining the power of data, technology, and exceptional service to pave a clear way forward for millions of people on the path to financial success. The Principal Business Analyst will own analytics, modeling, reporting, and recommendations for our Portfolio Management programs. This role designs the strategies behind customer engagement and risk management, including upgrades and multicard, that best serve our customers and our business.
The Impact You'll Make in This Role
In your first year, you'll sharpen the underwriting behind our multicard offers, and turn rewards upgrades and purchase incentives into tested strategies that move real engagement numbers.
- Design or refine the underwriting and pricing behind our multicard, line-extending strategy
- Turn rewards upgrades and purchase incentives into tested strategies for re-engaging low-usage customers
- Partner with risk, data science, and engineering to bring your strategies to market
As a Business Analyst, you will:
- You have analytical experience with a line-extending strategy, like credit limit increases, multicard, or another underwriting-heavy product
- You get curious about a new AI tool and actually dig in, instead of waiting for someone to hand you a tutorial
- You can work through other people to get things done. This role has a broader mandate than pure analytics.
- You have the business judgment to notice when a model's answer doesn't match reality, and the instinct to ask why
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in a highly analytical role, ideally in credit, lending, or another line-extension strategy
- Proven ability to problem solve end to end: from framing a hypothesis, to analyzing the data, to defending a recommendation with stakeholders
- Familiarity with SQL and Python for data analysis; Tableau is a plus, not a requirement
- Bachelor's or Master's in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar quantitative field with a strong academic record
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with credit cards or other consumer lending products, especially underwriting or portfolio management
- Experience building or maintaining risk models used to make account-level decisions at scale
- Experience with rewards, loyalty, or engagement programs
- Demonstrated expertise in SQL or Python
- Experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, etc.)
Benefits
- Full health, dental, and vision benefits, Flexible Spending Account (for medical and childcare expenses), paid parental leave, and a 401k Company Match
- Generous PTO, flexible schedules, a Calm App subscription, and more.
