About the role
Accountabilities:
- Lead technical discovery with customers, understanding application architectures, testing practices, delivery pipelines, security requirements, and business objectives.
- Design and deliver compelling demonstrations and technical presentations focused on Playwright and modern test automation workflows.
- Build and manage proofs of concept that demonstrate measurable customer value and support successful technical evaluations.
- Partner with account executives to develop solution strategies, define success criteria, address technical objections, and communicate solution value.
- Design, implement, and optimize production-quality Playwright automation frameworks, including fixtures, page objects, utilities, reporting, parallel execution, tracing, retries, and diagnostics.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD environments such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and CircleCI.
- Troubleshoot flaky tests, performance issues, environmental constraints, test-data dependencies, networks, proxies, certificates, and enterprise authentication environments.
- Develop deterministic and repeatable test-data strategies, including data creation, seeding, masking, isolation, cleanup, and environment-specific configuration.
- Provide implementation guidance, technical workshops, training, governance recommendations, and best-practice guidance to customer teams.
- Create reusable technical assets such as sample applications, migration playbooks, implementation materials, and testing standards.
- Analyze testing and quality data to identify trends in reliability, flakiness, execution time, coverage, and release risk.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to continuously improve adoption, testing practices, solution architecture, and overall customer outcomes.
- Maintain strong documentation covering customer requirements, solution designs, technical risks, proof-of-concept results, and implementation recommendations.
- 3–5 years of experience in software development, test automation, quality engineering, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting, ideally within SaaS, developer tools, DevOps, or quality engineering.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Playwright, including the test runner, fixtures, projects, tracing, reporters, parallel execution, debugging, and related tooling.
- Advanced proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript, with the ability to produce clean, modular, documented, production-quality code.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, DOM, HTTP, REST APIs, browser behavior, cookies, sessions, and authentication.
- Experience designing maintainable end-to-end, integration, API, and component-testing strategies.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with Git, package management, build tooling, containers, and modern developer workflows.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, APIs, JSON, test-data management, data isolation, synthetic data, masking, and privacy controls.
- Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems and complex enterprise environments involving networking, proxies, certificates, identity providers, and restricted infrastructure.
- Knowledge of testing strategy, test design, quality risk analysis, automation principles, observability, and quality metrics.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, written communication, and stakeholder-management abilities, with confidence engaging both technical and business audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple customer engagements independently while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivery quality.
- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms, Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Appium, or comparable automation technologies is preferred.
- Familiarity with Java, Python, or C#; Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, MFA, and observability tools is a plus.
- Experience with mobile, visual, accessibility, performance testing, or relevant cloud, testing, security, or agile certifications is advantageous.
- Base salary: $140,000–$160,000 USD for the U.S. compensation range.
