Summary
The Physical Security Architect is a hands-on subject matter expert on physical security design, covering access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and intercom systems. This role works directly with project teams, Solutions and Design engineers, Sales, manufacturer partners, and customer stakeholders to validate designs, review scope, and support projects through execution.
Walgreens is the initial focus for this role, given the size of the account and its ongoing physical security needs. The Physical Security Architect will also support other strategic enterprise customers over time. This role helps build deeper bench strength on Walgreens physical security standards and design expectations so that account knowledge is documented and shared across the team rather than held by one person.
Primary Duties
Design Support and Validation
- Conduct site assessments, construction reviews, and design coordination meetings for active physical security projects.
- Review and validate project scope, system requirements, and bills of materials against customer standards.
- Provide technical guidance on access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and integrated security systems.
- Support development of reference designs, configuration standards, and deployment guides.
Walgreens Program Support
- Serve as a technical resource for Walgreens’ physical security standards, design expectations, and site requirements.
- Support knowledge transfer so Walgreens specific technical knowledge is documented and shared across the physical security team.
- Review Walgreens project deliverables and support proactive communication on design questions, open issues, and escalations.
- Coordinate with manufacturer partners on platform requirements used on the account, including applicable integrations.
Project Support and Escalation
- Support project managers, project coordinators, and implementation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review network architectures, device configurations, communication paths, and integration points.
- Act as a liaison between project teams and manufacturer technical resources on hardware, firmware, or integration issues.
