Pharmacy Technician - Eligibility Data Entry Specialist - National Certification

Overview

The Eligibility Specialist plays a key role in growing specialty pharmacy services by identifying patients eligible for Shields Partner Pharmacy, completing benefits investigations, and ensuring accurate documentation—while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform benefits investigations and verify insurance coverage
• Utilize approved tools, EMR systems, and Pharmacy Dispensing Systems (PDS)
• Review patient medical records to confirm medication regimens
• Accurately document investigation outcomes
• Collaborate with team members to support high-quality patient care
• Identify trends, resolve issues, and recommend process improvements
• Participate in ongoing operational and performance improvement initiatives
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient and organizational information
• Stay current through professional development and training
• Complete additional duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• 0–1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician

Licensure & Certification

• State Pharmacy Technician License (required)
• PTCB certification (required)
• Additional state certification may be required based on placement
• Must obtain required licensure within agreed timeframe if not already held
