People Operations Manager
About the role
About FOLX Health
FOLX Health is the leading health and wellness platform for the LGBTQIA+ community, providing end-to-end care across the full spectrum of community needs. We're building joyful, affirming healthcare on people's own terms, and serving as the north star for innovation across the broader ecosystem.
Role Overview
As our People Operations Manager, you'll be a driving force on the People & Culture team—part architect of an exceptional employee experience, part steward of the systems that keep a fast-growing organization running. This role is ideal for someone early or mid-career who's ready to take real ownership: you're a self-starter who gets energized by building and protecting culture, and equally happy rolling up your sleeves for the detail-oriented work that makes HR operations hum.
Our Culture
- Reliability — We show up for our members and each other in service of our mission
- Transparency — We build trust by openly sharing our goals and progress
- Access — We invest in our team with the tools and training to reach individual goals
- Agency — We trust our team to get the job done
What You'll Do
Build and protect culture
- Help design and run the moments that define the employee experience—onboarding, milestones, recognition, and the everyday rituals that make FOLX a place people are proud to work
- Bring fresh, creative ideas to how we attract, engage, and retain talent, and turn the best ones into real programs
- Act as a trusted, approachable point of contact for staff—answering questions, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with care, escalating when appropriate
Run operations with precision
- Own the administrative execution of onboarding and offboarding: paperwork, secure storage, I-9 completion, background checks, and accurate system entry
- Review payroll for hourly employees and manage off-cycle and supplemental payment requests
- Partner with our benefits providers to answer staff questions on healthcare and other benefits
- Safeguard data integrity and accuracy across your projects, managing your time and priorities independently
- Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders—including Finance and Legal—on processes that touch People Operations
- Take on other responsibilities as the team and organization grow
What You'll Bring
- 3–5 years of experience in a human resources role (internship experience considered)
- A genuine passion for serving the LGBTQ+ community
- A self-starter mindset—you spot what needs doing and take initiative without waiting to be asked
- Comfort moving between big-picture, creative thinking and meticulous, detail-oriented execution
- Tech savvy, with the ability to quickly learn new software (G-Suite, HRIS, ATS) and solid Excel skills
- Experience supporting an employee population, ideally in a fast-growing environment
Salary
$75,000–$95,000
