About the Role
Shields Health Solutions is seeking a motivated, results-driven leader to join our growing Patient Support Center. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading teams, improving performance, and delivering excellent patient care in a fast-paced specialty pharmacy environment.
You’ll oversee daily operations, coach team members, and ensure high-quality patient support and service level performance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage a team of Patient Support Associates
- Provide coaching, performance management, and development
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training
- Motivate team members in both remote and onsite environments
Patient & Operational Excellence
- Ensure medication access through refills, prior authorizations, and financial assistance
- Manage support across hospitals/clinics to ensure timely patient care
- Maintain service level goals and quality standards
- Oversee pharmacy workflows (claims, deliveries, coordination of care)
Operations & Collaboration
- Conduct system audits and manage workflow efficiency
- Partner with hospital stakeholders through regular meetings
- Lead team meetings, track performance, and identify improvements
- Collaborate cross-functionally on projects and process enhancements
Administrative
- Manage PTO, timekeeping, and reporting
- Coordinate training and system access
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive healthcare data
Qualifications
Required
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration + CPhT certification
- 3+ years pharmacy technician experience (specialty preferred)
- Leadership experience
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred or in progress)
Skills
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate across teams
- Operational and project management expertise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word
- Experience with pharmacy/EMR systems (Willow, QS1, RX30 a plus)
- Highly organized, patient-focused, and detail-oriented
Travel
- Up to 20% travel for remote roles outside core locations
