About the role
Accountabilities:
- Own organic search strategy: Develop and execute a full-funnel keyword strategy covering high-intent terms, head terms, question-based queries, and other opportunities that generate qualified organic traffic and conversions.
- Drive ranking performance: Monitor keyword performance and implement on-page improvements to increase visibility, secure top search positions, and strengthen organic market share.
- Analyze competitive opportunities: Regularly assess competitor keyword profiles and search visibility to identify content gaps, missed opportunities, and areas where market share can be captured.
- Lead GEO initiatives: Develop strategies that increase brand authority and visibility within AI-generated answers, large language models, conversational search, and other emerging generative search experiences.
- Optimize for AI discovery: Identify audience-relevant prompts, improve site architecture and content signals, and use AI personas to simulate user journeys and understand how different AI models interpret and surface brand content.
- Manage technical SEO: Oversee site structure, crawlability, redirects, 404 management, Core Web Vitals, and other technical foundations that support a fast, accessible, search-friendly experience.
- Strengthen structured data: Implement and optimize sophisticated Schema Markup to provide search engines and AI crawlers with clear context, authorship, and content relationships.
- Partner on content: Collaborate with content teams to develop and optimize content around audience needs, search intent, relevance, and organic growth opportunities.
- Optimize on-page elements: Refine page titles, meta descriptions, heading structures, internal linking, and other page-level signals to maximize relevance and ranking potential.
- Measure and communicate performance: Use tools such as Conductor, GA4, Google Search Console, and emerging AI-tracking platforms to monitor traditional rankings, GEO visibility, traffic, conversions, and overall organic performance.
- Provide executive insights: Deliver regular reporting on Share of Voice, conversion trends, organic performance, and ROI, translating data into clear recommendations for leadership.
- Champion SEO and GEO cross-functionally: Act as the primary bridge between Marketing, Product, and Engineering, advocating for scalable SEO and GEO practices across digital initiatives.
- SEO experience: 5+ years of experience managing organic search strategy, with demonstrated ownership of end-to-end SEO programs and measurable performance improvements.
- GEO expertise: Significant experience developing or implementing GEO strategies, with a strong understanding of how AI-generated search and large language models are changing organic discovery.
- B2B technology background: Experience in B2B marketing within the technology sector; experience in IT security, cybersecurity, or SaaS is particularly valuable.
- Marketing analytics: Strong analytical capabilities and experience using data to identify trends, diagnose performance issues, and translate insights into actionable optimization strategies.
- Marketing technology: Experience with Salesforce and Google Analytics, as well as familiarity with SEO and search performance platforms.
- Inbound marketing expertise: Strong understanding of end-to-end inbound marketing functions and how organic search contributes to acquisition and conversion.
- Technical SEO skills: Knowledge of site architecture, crawlability, redirects, Core Web Vitals, structured data, internal linking, and other technical and on-page SEO practices.
- AI and emerging search knowledge: Ability to understand and adapt to evolving AI search experiences, conversational platforms, LLMs, and generative search behavior.
- Strategic and creative thinking: Ability to combine quantitative analysis with intuition, experimentation, and creative problem-solving to identify growth opportunities.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical SEO and GEO concepts clearly and influence stakeholders across Marketing, Product, and Engineering.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Work authorization: This position is remote and open to candidates located in the United States.
- Base salary: $120,000–$130,000, depending on skills, experience, and alignment with the role.
