About the role
Accountabilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing SaaS and AI application sourcing team, establishing clear priorities, standards, performance expectations, and development opportunities.
- Own complex SaaS negotiations and agreement reviews, including EULAs, SLAs, DPAs, order forms, and master agreements, with particular focus on pricing, usage and true-up mechanisms, audit rights, security and privacy, renewals, and termination provisions.
- Ensure sourcing activities comply with internal procurement standards and applicable government contracting requirements, including FAR regulations and related contractual obligations.
- Lead disciplined sourcing initiatives involving market research, competitive benchmarking, total cost of ownership analysis, commercial risk assessment, RFPs, and negotiation strategies.
- Develop and execute category strategies that support cost savings, supplier performance, operational efficiency, and business objectives across the SaaS portfolio.
- Manage procurement operations including sourcing pipelines, renewal calendars, dashboards, performance metrics, reporting, and executive-level updates.
- Standardize SaaS procurement processes through playbooks, templates, checklists, and other repeatable tools that improve consistency and execution quality.
- Identify opportunities to automate and continuously improve sourcing and procurement workflows, leading implementation of approved enhancements.
- Manage relationships with strategic SaaS suppliers and support executive-level supplier engagements through clear recommendations, briefings, and commercial analysis.
- Act as a primary escalation point for the sourcing team, resolving complex issues and ensuring team members have the support and resources required to succeed.
- Bachelor’s degree required; an additional four years of relevant professional experience may substitute for the degree.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably with a focus on software, SaaS, or technology-related categories.
- Demonstrated experience leading sourcing projects and/or procurement teams, with prior people leadership strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience operating in FAR-compliant environments and working with government contracting requirements, federal regulations, clauses, and flowdowns.
- Proven ability to negotiate software agreements and commercial terms, including pricing structures, usage and true-up provisions, audit rights, data processing and security requirements, renewal terms, and termination mechanics.
- Strong experience managing strategic RFPs, competitive sourcing initiatives, supplier evaluations, and vendor relationships.
- Strong analytical and commercial skills, including the ability to assess pricing, total cost of ownership, contractual risk, and supplier performance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex procurement and contractual matters into clear recommendations for stakeholders and executives.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives, deadlines, renewals, and escalations simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to coach team members, establish standards, manage performance, and drive measurable outcomes.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work performed.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and travel occasionally, with travel expected to be less than 10%.
- Annual salary range of $97,968–$132,250, with final compensation determined by experience, geographic location, and applicable contractual factors.
