About the role

Accountabilities

    • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of state and federal licensing, exemption, renewal, and related regulatory applications, from research and preparation through submission, follow-up, revisions, and final approval.
    • Conduct detailed regulatory research across existing and prospective markets, including licensing requirements, renewals, and WIOA Eligible Training Provider List processes.
    • Manage multiple compliance projects simultaneously, ensuring applications, renewals, and other regulatory deliverables remain accurate and ahead of deadlines.
    • Maintain comprehensive records in Salesforce, including application histories, renewal activity, project status, and market-specific compliance information, with a strong focus on data integrity.
    • Map and document historical and active applications and renewals by market or region, while maintaining accurate compliance resources and internal documentation.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to collect required operational documents, complete forms, and assemble compliant submission packages.
    • Communicate directly with state licensing boards and regulatory agencies, monitor application status, and manage technical revisions or additional information requests.
    • Support internal audits, recordkeeping initiatives, reporting activities, and regulatory readiness efforts.
    • Partner with senior leadership on the planning, structure, and execution of complex, multi-jurisdictional compliance initiatives.
    • Lead designated compliance projects and coordinate delegated activities with Compliance Associates to ensure timely and high-quality execution.
    • Serve as an operational point of contact for the compliance licensing function when senior leadership is unavailable.
    • Participate in meetings, document key actions and decisions, and act as a compliance subject matter resource for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Co-lead recurring compliance office hours and coordinate internal training sessions covering relevant regulatory and operational topics.
    • Handle confidential and sensitive organizational information with discretion and sound professional judgment.
    • Requirements

      • 8+ years of experience in institutional compliance, regulatory filings, or administrative compliance operations, preferably within higher education, workforce development, or another highly regulated environment.
      • At least 3+ years of experience managing a compliance program or comparable regulatory function.
      • Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) preferred; equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
      • Demonstrated success independently managing complex regulatory filings, applications, renewals, and compliance projects from initiation through completion.
      • Strong regulatory research capabilities, including the ability to interpret complex state requirements, administrative codes, government websites, and licensing procedures.
      • Proven ability to collect, organize, analyze, and maintain regulatory information with exceptional accuracy and data integrity.
      • Advanced experience with Salesforce CRM, particularly data entry, data inquiries, tracking, and generating baseline reports.
      • Strong proficiency with Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office, particularly Word/Docs and Excel/Sheets.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and consistently with senior leaders, colleagues, government agencies, and external stakeholders.
      • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects, competing deadlines, and detailed workflows in a fast-paced environment.
      • Strong attention to detail, persistence, and professionalism when navigating complex government processes and administrative bureaucracy.
      • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of projects with limited supervision.
      • Strong problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and project-management skills.
      • Experience working directly with state educational licensing boards or regulatory agencies is preferred.
      • Experience preparing teams for, navigating, or responding to formal regulatory audits is a plus.
      • Must be comfortable working remotely and collaborating across teams and locations.

        • Base salary: $83,000–$93,000 annually, with final compensation determined by factors including location, specialized experience, and senior-level qualifications.
        • Remote work: United States-based remote position.
        • Paid time off: More than 40 days of combined paid time off annually through holidays, vacation, and wellness/sick/personal time.
        • Holidays: 22 paid holidays annually, including a week off around Independence Day and a week before the New Year.
