About the role
Accountabilities
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of high-performing outbound Business Development Representatives, fostering a collaborative and feedback-driven environment.
- Establish a strong coaching culture by regularly reviewing call performance, talk tracks, emails, messaging, and prospecting techniques, while providing actionable feedback.
- Partner closely with senior sales leadership to execute the outbound strategy, improve team performance, and support the continued expansion of the business development organization.
- Own and continuously improve prospecting workflows, outbound campaigns, multi-touch sequences, and account targeting strategies for defined customer profiles.
- Develop creative and highly targeted prospecting approaches, including strategic call plans, account plans, pre-call preparation, and campaign execution.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics, using data and business insights to identify gaps, improve execution, and achieve pipeline and sales objectives.
- Ensure representatives effectively communicate the value proposition to prospects and consistently qualify outbound opportunities against established criteria.
- Promote a culture of curiosity, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring team members remain connected and avoid working in silos.
- Work cross-functionally with account teams and sales leadership to coordinate campaigns, strengthen pipeline development, and contribute to overall revenue performance.
- Scale processes and operational practices that enable the business development function to operate efficiently as the organization and customer demand continue to grow.
- 3–5 years of experience in a relevant sales role, including at least 1–2 years in a people management, coaching, or team leadership position.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and improve sales representatives through structured coaching, feedback, and performance management.
- Strong passion for outbound sales, cold calling, prospecting, and helping sales professionals continuously improve their performance.
- Proven ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic thinking, initiative, and effective day-to-day team management.
- Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret sales metrics and use data to identify opportunities and drive business results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to coach representatives and communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Intellectual curiosity, humility, integrity, accountability, transparency, and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.
- High coachability and a collaborative approach to working with leadership, peers, and team members.
- Experience with sales engagement and CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Outreach, SalesLoft, Gong, or 6sense is an asset.
- Familiarity with prospecting tools such as ZoomInfo, UserGems, Lusha, Cognism, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator is preferred.
- Knowledge of sales qualification and methodology frameworks such as MEDDPICC, BANT, SPIN, or Challenger is an advantage.
