About the role
Accountabilities:
- Lead HR technology application support and enhancement activities, overseeing day-to-day operations, projects, improvements, and service delivery for Oracle Fusion HCM Payroll and related HR applications.
- Act as the subject matter expert for Oracle Fusion Payroll, providing guidance on payroll processing, tax calculations, benefits integrations, reporting, configuration, and requirements related to US and Canadian legislation.
- Manage the full application change lifecycle, coordinating requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support in line with established governance.
- Lead release and change management, planning and coordinating Oracle module releases, upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and other system updates while assessing risks and downstream impacts.
- Provide Tier 2 support leadership, overseeing incident intake, prioritization, troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution while ensuring issues are addressed within appropriate timelines.
- Partner with functional owners and business stakeholders to understand business needs, evaluate configuration options, automate processes, and recommend solutions that improve efficiency and user experience.
- Manage enhancement and bug-fix delivery, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and that solutions are designed, tested, deployed, and supported effectively.
- Coordinate and allocate team resources, managing workloads, capacity planning, priorities, project assignments, and critical activities across the support organization.
- Lead and develop team members, providing technical direction, mentoring, feedback, and opportunities for continuous learning while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Manage external vendor relationships, coordinating support, enhancements, product roadmaps, issue escalations, and vendor-delivered solutions.
- Drive data and process governance, promoting standardization, simplification, consistency, and continuous improvement across HR technology processes.
- Monitor and communicate delivery performance, maintaining status reports, risk and issue logs, application updates, and escalation paths for matters that could affect projects, timelines, or operational support.
- Support integrations and technical troubleshooting, including interfaces, databases, reporting solutions, data flows, and related Oracle HCM technologies.
- Provide technical consultation and leadership during system upgrades, enhancements, and new module implementations, ensuring solutions align with business objectives and enterprise standards.
- Use data and facts to guide decisions, identifying opportunities to create measurable operational, customer, and financial value while balancing innovation with risk and sustainability.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or a high school diploma/GED combined with at least four years of relevant professional experience.
- 12+ years of HR technology support experience, including significant experience leading service delivery, application support, and vendor relationships.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM, particularly Core HR, Payroll, Compensation, Talent Management, Recruiting/ORC, and related HCM capabilities.
- Strong expertise in Oracle Fusion Payroll, including payroll processing, US and Canadian payroll requirements, tax calculations, benefits integrations, reporting, and system configuration.
- Experience with OTBI, BI Publisher (BIP), Fast Formulas, HCM Extracts, BPM Worklist, and troubleshooting HCM integrations.
- Strong technical knowledge of SQL/database queries, data extracts, interfaces, reporting technologies, and complex data manipulation.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating requirements and technical specifications across development, testing, deployment, upgrades, patches, and application enhancements.
- Proven ability to lead change control, release management, application upgrades, and enhancement programs within an enterprise HR technology environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, allocate resources, and deliver against milestones.
- Excellent people leadership, mentoring, and team-building capabilities, combined with a collaborative and people-first approach.
- Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills, with the ability to influence decisions and build trusted relationships across HR, technology, business, and leadership teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, actionable messages for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data-driven decision-making skills, with mature judgment and an ability to resolve complex issues independently.
- A proactive, innovative, and impact-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, challenge established approaches, and implement practical improvements.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and working effectively with globally distributed teams, including coordination outside standard business hours when required.
