About the role

About the People team

The People team helps Affirmers cultivate a high-performing, inclusive organization. We focus on three core areas: attracting talent aligned to our mission, enabling growth through people and team development, and retaining employees through thoughtful experiences and rewards. We develop Affirm’s people programs and systems to create a workplace where all employees can thrive and contribute meaningfully. By investing in our people, we create a long-term advantage for the business.

About the team

We are seeking a Learning Specialist II to deliver an exceptional onboarding experience for new Affirmers. As a part of the Learning team, this role is perfect for a strong facilitator who loves building welcoming human connections and is energized by managing programmatic logistics, analyzing data, and driving continuous process improvement to scale people programs.

What you’ll do

  • First-Line Support: Act as the primary onboarding point of contact for new hires and hiring managers, actively monitoring and responding across onboarding channels.
  • Facilitation & Training: Deliver engaging virtual and in-person training events to new hires within their first 90 days.
  • Onboarding Project Management: Lead onboarding projects from start to finish, partnering cross-functionally (Workplace, IT, etc.) to ensure deliverables are met and execution is seamless.
  • Program & Resource Delivery: Support the development and delivery of learning assets, such as slide decks, eLearning modules, and job aids.
  • Portfolio Operations: Handle onboarding program logistics, including calendaring, communications, tracking deliverables, and managing new hire swag.
  • Content Administration: Administer and maintain onboarding content and tasks in Workday Learning.
  • Knowledge Management: Maintain core onboarding documentation, such as keeping onboarding Notion pages up to date and updating email communications to reflect program changes.
  • Data & Process Optimization: Analyze internal data and conduct external research to identify trends and recommend opportunities to improve the onboarding experience.
  • Travel: Travel to facilitate onsite onboarding events and support team initiatives (estimated one to two times quarterly).

What we look for

  • Experience & Execution: You have 3+ years of program management experience, ideally for people-related programs and/or at an organization that has scaled beyond 2,500 employees.
  • Analytical Skills: You possess excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with 2+ years analyzing and making recommendations based on data.
  • Continuous Improvement Mentality: You recognize that perfect is not an end state and continually drive for program improvement grounded in end-user feedback and/or industry insights.
  • Communication & Facilitation Depth: You possess strong communication and presentation skills across virtual and in-person environments, with an ability to simplify complex information and a passion for helping Affirmers find the information they need.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: You are a collaborative team player who builds stable working relationships to support team and organizational success, taking on tasks and operational responsibilities as needed to drive meaningful outcomes.
