Lead Product Designer

Accountabilities

• • Lead design strategy and execution for one or more strategically important product pillars, from discovery and definition through delivery and iteration.
  • Translate customer needs, business goals, product strategy, and technical constraints into clear experience strategies, design roadmaps, and product direction.
  • Partner closely with product and engineering leaders to define product vision, prioritize opportunities, and align teams around high-quality outcomes.
  • Influence senior-level product decisions through customer insights, data synthesis, product judgment, compelling storytelling, and strong design rationale.
  • Conduct and guide research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, content strategy, and usability testing throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for visual design, hierarchy, typography, grids, spacing, interaction quality, usability, accessibility, motion, and overall product polish.
  • Drive design quality reviews and ensure experiences align with established design systems, reusable patterns, and accessibility standards.
  • Mentor designers and raise the quality of work across multiple teams through critique, coaching, shared standards, documentation, and systems thinking.
  • Define and socialize meaningful design-quality and product-impact metrics, including usability, accessibility, task success, adoption, retention, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead complex discovery and design initiatives in ambiguous environments by synthesizing diverse inputs, framing decisions, and creating clarity for cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with data, machine learning, automation, and platform teams to design intelligent and AI-driven product experiences.
  • Explore and apply AI-powered tools for research, exploration, prototyping, critique, synthesis, and workflow acceleration.
  • Improve design operations, processes, tools, documentation, rituals, and ways of working across the broader design organization.
  • Advocate for accessibility, inclusion, ethical design, and customer-centered decision-making.
  • Foster effective collaboration across distributed teams and time zones, including close partnership with colleagues in India and the United States.

  Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant product design experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership, mentorship, or design-direction capacity.
  • Strong experience designing SaaS, B2B, platform, workflow-heavy, or similarly complex digital products.
  • An exceptional portfolio demonstrating systematic thinking, customer empathy, sophisticated design craft, measurable product impact, and leadership beyond individual feature execution. A portfolio is required for consideration.
  • Proven ability to lead data-informed product design across research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, content strategy, and usability testing.
  • Exceptional visual and interaction design skills, with a deep understanding of hierarchy, layout, typography, grids, spacing, motion, usability, accessibility, and product quality.
  • Experience designing AI-driven or intelligent interfaces and collaborating with machine learning, data, automation, or platform teams.
  • Deep proficiency with design systems, accessibility standards, reusable patterns, and scalable product experience decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence design direction for high-impact product areas, platforms, systems, or product pillars rather than only individual features.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, data specialists, customer-facing teams, senior stakeholders, and designers.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts, lead critiques and workshops, present design rationale, and influence decisions.
  • Experience mentoring designers and strengthening design practices, standards, processes, and team culture.
  • Mandatory experience using AI-powered tools for design exploration, prototyping, critique, synthesis, or workflow acceleration.
  • Strong ability to balance speed, detail, scalability, and design quality while maintaining a clear focus on customer outcomes.
  • Ability to work effectively across distributed, multicultural, and international teams with flexibility around working hours.
