Lead Accountant

About the Role

As a Lead Accountant, you will support month-end and quarter-end close, including accruals, prepaids, inventory, internal software capitalization, and intercompany transactions. You will also review reconciliations and drive process improvements. You will also support the treasury activities, the audit request, and ad hoc analysis request. You will report to Director, Accounting.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset. You will independently manage work of diverse scope, solve complex accounting issues, and help strengthen Motive’s accounting operations as the business grows.

What You’ll Do

• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, consolidations, eliminations, and allocations.
• Manage intercompany transactions, subsidiary funding requests, and related compliance requirements across international entities.
• Support audits and financial reporting requirements while maintaining audit-ready documentation.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities that strengthen controls and reduce manual work.
• Partner with Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and other teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a fast-growing technology, SaaS, or multinational organization.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial close processes, intercompany accounting, and statutory compliance.
• Experience managing complex reconciliations, audit requests, and accounting documentation across multiple entities.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze large amounts of financial data.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to build consensus across teams.
