Accountabilities

• • Provide technical leadership: Act as the technical point of reference for the squad, guiding the sustainment and evolution of critical payment systems while ensuring availability, resilience, performance, and 24x7 service continuity.
  • Manage critical incidents: Lead the response to major incidents, coordinate mitigation efforts, identify operational risks, and drive root-cause analyses and remediation plans.
  • Strengthen observability and monitoring: Coordinate application, infrastructure, and transaction monitoring, oversee observability practices, and track operational indicators to support service continuity and proactive issue detection.
  • Drive operational excellence: Identify and implement automation, process improvements, and engineering practices that increase platform stability, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Support technical execution: Help developers distribute technical tasks when needed, remove engineering impediments, make technical decisions, and ensure the quality of delivered solutions.
  • Promote continuous improvement: Encourage technical innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning while identifying opportunities to evolve engineering practices and technologies.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering, operations, and business teams to resolve complex issues and advance critical platforms.
  • Apply data-driven decision-making: Use operational and performance data to guide analysis, prioritization, technical decisions, and squad objectives.
  • Ensure governance and compliance: Contribute to operational governance, risk mitigation, and adherence to regulatory requirements applicable to critical financial systems.

  Requirements

  • Technical leadership: Proven experience leading the sustainment and operations of critical systems, particularly in payment environments and financial services.
  • Payments expertise: Experience with payment ecosystems, especially PIX and banking integrations.
  • High-availability environments: Hands-on experience with high-availability systems, high-volume transactional processing, and continuous 24x7 operations.
  • Incident management: Strong experience handling critical incidents, conducting root-cause analysis (RCA), and implementing effective remediation plans.
  • Observability and monitoring: Knowledge of monitoring and observability across applications, infrastructure, and transactions.
  • Distributed systems: Understanding of APIs, messaging, system integrations, and distributed architectures.
  • Databases: Experience with both relational and non-relational databases in critical production environments.
  • DevOps and SRE: Familiarity with DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), automation, and operational excellence practices.
  • Software engineering: Strong experience with Java and its ecosystem, including Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch, with a focus on scalable, service-oriented applications.
  • Cloud: Experience working with public cloud environments, particularly GCP, as well as private cloud infrastructure.
  • Financial services: Understanding of regulatory requirements and governance practices within the financial sector.
  • Agile delivery: Experience working with agile methodologies and managing technical demands in collaborative environments.
  • Leadership and communication: Ability to make sound technical decisions, remove blockers, influence multidisciplinary teams, and communicate complex topics clearly.
  • Data-driven mindset: Strong analytical approach and ability to use data and operational indicators to support priorities and decisions.
