About the role
Accountabilities:
- Transform complex product and user challenges into intuitive, elegant interaction and interface experiences across desktop, web, and mobile applications.
- Analyze usage patterns and user states to identify opportunities to improve navigation, usability, and overall product experience.
- Own, maintain, and evolve the product design system to promote consistency and efficiency across experiences.
- Create sketches, wireframes, prototypes, scenarios, storyboards, specifications, and other design artifacts to communicate solutions effectively.
- Conduct and support qualitative and quantitative research, including surveys, observational studies, usability testing, and customer research both remotely and on-site.
- Evaluate sample applications and product experiences to identify usability issues and opportunities for design improvement.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure research insights and design requirements are effectively translated into working products.
- Advocate for user needs throughout the product development lifecycle and help teams make informed, user-centered decisions.
- Communicate design concepts, detailed solutions, methodologies, and rationales clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with interaction design methodologies, emerging technologies, design practices, and industry trends.
- 3+ years of professional experience in interaction design, UX, UI, or a closely related discipline, supported by a strong design portfolio.
- Degree in design or a related field such as industrial design, user-centered design, visual design, graphic design, human factors, psychology, anthropology, ethnography, neuroscience, or human-computer interaction.
- Strong understanding of usability principles and interaction design best practices, including familiarity with usability heuristics.
- Excellent visual design capabilities and proficiency with tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience with interface design, prototyping, interaction design, wireframing, and sketching tools.
- Experience using rapid design and development tools such as v0, Vercel, Bolt, Lovable, or Replit.
- Strong understanding of web and mobile technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap.
- Ability to create simple, clear, and concise microcopy.
- Experience designing for Windows, web, and mobile platforms.
- Strong conceptual thinking, problem-solving ability, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain design decisions and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Nielsen Norman Group (NN/g) certification is a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% across North America.
- Estimated US base salary range of $78,300–$95,700 per year, with final compensation determined by factors such as location, experience, expertise, and other job-related considerations.
