About the role

Accountabilities:

    • Establish, develop, and maintain strong business relationships with existing and prospective customers throughout the assigned Atlantic Canada territory.
    • Conduct regular customer visits and schedule appointments with municipalities, consulting engineers, distributors, and other industry stakeholders.
    • Develop consultative sales strategies that identify customer challenges and position appropriate, value-added solutions.
    • Establish product specifications with municipalities and consulting engineers and influence purchasing decisions through technical and commercial expertise.
    • Prepare quotations and proposals as required, following opportunities through the sales process.
    • Respond promptly and effectively to customer questions, issues, and requests while maintaining a high level of service.
    • Establish territory sales goals and specification objectives aligned with broader sales budgets and business priorities.
    • Maintain effective communication and coordination with management and inside sales teams to ensure opportunities and customer needs are properly managed.
    • Organize and participate in sales and promotional activities, including seminars, plant tours, trade shows, product demonstrations, and other industry events.
    • Deliver product training and technical presentations to end users, distributors, and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Participate actively in trade organizations and industry networks to strengthen market awareness and promote solutions.
    • Identify opportunities to expand the market, recommend growth strategies, and develop initiatives that increase sales within the territory.
    • Travel regularly throughout the territory to provide effective customer coverage and maintain strong relationships.
    • Requirements:

      • University degree or college diploma, ideally in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
      • Minimum 5 years of field sales experience within the waterworks, infrastructure, utilities, or a related industry; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may also be considered.
      • Strong consultative selling abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to understand customer requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
      • Experience building and maintaining relationships with municipalities, engineering firms, distributors, contractors, or other infrastructure-sector stakeholders is an asset.
      • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to establish sales objectives, identify opportunities, and work toward measurable results.
      • Ability to work independently, manage a geographically dispersed territory, and maintain productivity while collaborating effectively with a broader team.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence presenting products and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Strong organizational and administrative abilities, including effective territory planning, opportunity management, and follow-up.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
      • Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout Atlantic Canada, including Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island.
