About the role
Accountabilities:
- Develop, standardize, implement, and continuously improve global project planning methods, processes, tools, and scheduling standards.
- Support the adoption of consistent planning practices across global regions and strengthen planning capabilities within local teams.
- Train and coach regional project schedulers on planning systems, tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Support project teams during tender and early project phases, including the development of realistic and achievable baseline schedules.
- Review project schedules to ensure feasibility, consistency, completeness, quality, and alignment with project execution requirements.
- Participate in regional project reviews, assess planning maturity and schedule-related risks, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct schedule quality assessments and due diligence reviews to identify potential gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure appropriate qualification, capability, and availability of project planning resources across the regions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing schedule reliability, planning quality, and overall project execution performance.
- Act as a functional leader and trusted advisor, influencing project and planning teams without direct reporting authority.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in project scheduling, ideally using tools such as Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Strong understanding of international project execution and scheduling requirements, preferably within power generation, hydropower, engineering, or large-scale plant construction environments.
- Proven experience training, coaching, mentoring, or providing functional leadership to project planning teams.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify risks, solve complex planning challenges, and translate analysis into practical actions.
- Excellent knowledge of scheduling methodologies and tools, combined with the ability to communicate complex planning information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate and align teams across regions and cultures without relying on direct authority.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence working in a global, multicultural environment.
- High level of initiative, accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work collaboratively with international project teams and adapt planning practices to different regional environments.
- Willingness to work according to the applicable hybrid/remote work policies of the location where you are based; this is not a fully remote position.
