About the role
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement global procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
- Team Management: Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Category Management: Oversee procurement categories such as property, facilities, variable costs linked to training delivery, and third-party training providers.
- Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure supplier performance meets company standards.
- Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to achieve financial targets.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements in the respective countries.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and other key metrics to senior management.
- Client Engagement: Meet with key clients to review spend trends and opportunities
Required Experience
- 12+ years of professional experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Minimum 5 years in Procurement of professional services categories
- Experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies on a global scale
- Proven track record in managing procurement categories such as property, facilities, and third-party professional services
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Broad knowledge of procurement software and tools
- Professional certification such as CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the training or education industry
- Familiarity with international procurement regulations and standards, notably North America, UK, France, and Netherlands
- French or Dutch language proficiency advantageous
