About the role
Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage engineering teams, overseeing people, processes, workflows, and the overall software development lifecycle.
- Plan short- and long-term engineering demands, activities, priorities, resources, and delivery timelines.
- Review development work and code to help maintain and continuously improve technical quality.
- Understand customer and user needs across different scenarios and translate them into appropriate engineering priorities.
- Define priorities, estimate effort, establish deadlines, and ensure effective execution across initiatives.
- Maintain active, clear, and didactic communication with engineering teams and other departments.
- Conduct regular 1:1 meetings and provide ongoing guidance, feedback, and support to team members.
- Participate in technical meetings with internal and external customers, helping align expectations and solutions.
- Drive initiatives that improve product quality, engineering processes, and delivery outcomes.
- Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, accountability, and continuous development within the engineering organization.
- Professional experience in software development and engineering leadership or management.
- Strong understanding of software development practices, Git/GitHub, and cloud infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing engineering teams and supporting individual growth.
- Advanced English proficiency, with strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a structured, action-oriented approach to solving problems.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving, and early-stage environments.
- Strong focus on impact and outcomes rather than simply measuring output.
- Ability to balance technical considerations, business priorities, customer needs, and team development.
- Experience with project management and/or product management is considered a plus.
- Comfortable taking ownership, making decisions, and driving initiatives from conception through execution.
