Geospatial Solutions Architect

Position Overview

Barbaricum is seeking a Geospatial Solutions Architect to design and implement advanced geospatial visualization and mapping solutions that enhance operational awareness and decision-making across USSOUTHCOM. The successful candidate will lead the integration of geospatial capabilities into cloud-based platforms, intelligence workflows, and operational dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise geospatial architectures and visualization solutions.
• Develop GIS applications and mapping services supporting operational missions.
• Integrate geospatial data into cloud-based applications and dashboards.
• Develop spatial analysis and geospatial intelligence capabilities.
• Support remote sensing, imagery exploitation, and location-based analytics initiatives.
• Collaborate with software developers, data engineers, and mission stakeholders.
• Implement geospatial AI/ML solutions where applicable.
• Develop technical roadmaps and architecture recommendations.
• Ensure interoperability between geospatial systems and enterprise platforms.
• Document geospatial architectures, standards, and implementation guidance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, GIS, or related field.
• Five (5) years of equivalent professional experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Demonstrated experience developing GIS solutions using ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, or comparable platforms.
• Experience integrating geospatial data into cloud-based applications.
• Experience with spatial analysis and geospatial data processing.
• Experience with mapping services, web GIS technologies, and geospatial databases.
