Full-Stack Web Engineer

Accountabilities:

• • Build and maintain the product's core user interface, with a primary focus on interactive maps, data tables, chat experiences, and file-upload workflows.
  • Develop map-centric interfaces capable of efficiently rendering and interacting with large feature sets.
  • Design intuitive ways to display tabular results generated from spatial queries and large datasets.
  • Implement robust file-upload flows and related user experiences.
  • Contribute to backend development alongside the AI engineer, including API design, server-side persistence, authentication, and authorization.
  • Help develop and improve an AI-powered chat interface, particularly around latency, streaming, and the presentation of partial results.
  • Make pragmatic technical and product decisions that balance user needs, performance, maintainability, and delivery speed.
  • Collaborate effectively with other engineers and stakeholders to translate product requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Take ownership of defined deliverables and contribute measurable results from onboarding onward.

  Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience with TypeScript, including React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend.
  • 2+ years of production experience developing map-centric frontend applications using Mapbox GL or equivalent vector-tile mapping technologies such as MapLibre, Leaflet, or deck.gl.
  • 3+ years of experience building data-heavy production interfaces involving tables, editors, upload workflows, and complex user interactions.
  • 4+ years of experience designing backend services with PostgreSQL, including API design, authentication, authorization, and typesafe query layers.
  • Experience with Kysely, Prisma, or a comparable typesafe database/query framework.
  • Strong senior-level engineering experience with the ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture, backend services, APIs, data persistence, and scalable application development.
  • Ability to make pragmatic engineering decisions in an evolving product environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team.

  Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with geospatial data and spatial data processing.
  • Experience visualizing large datasets in the browser using vector tiles or similar technologies.
  • Experience building chat interfaces and streaming experiences.
  • 2+ years of experience working with serverless AWS architectures.
  • Understanding of AI product challenges, particularly latency, streaming partial responses, and conversational interfaces.
