Full Stack Engineer, Guardian Monitoring
About the role
About the Job:
LaunchDarkly is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join the Guardian Monitoring team. Guardian is the safety layer for software delivery: it monitors releases in real time, detects regressions, and triggers automatic rollbacks when things go wrong. Our goal is to make releases safe enough that teams can ship continuously without manual oversight.
On the Monitoring team, you'll build the detection and response systems at the heart of that loop. Your work will span backend services that analyze telemetry data and frontend interfaces that give teams confidence in what's happening with their releases.
If you want to build the systems that make safe, automated software delivery possible, we'd love to talk to you!
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and ship full-stack features across Guardian's monitoring platform (UI, APIs, backend services, and data pipelines)
- Own features end-to-end: from prototype and API design through production rollout and iteration
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers across Guardian and adjacent teams
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews, contributing to sound trade-off decisions
- Write well-tested, maintainable code and promote best practices for quality, observability, and reliability
- Mentor teammates and contribute to a collaborative, high-trust engineering culture
- Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of production reliability for your features
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably across both frontend and backend features
- Proficiency across the full stack: preferably comfortable in TypeScript/React on the frontend and Go (or similar) on the backend
- Strong product instincts: you care about user experience and can translate ambiguous requirements into clean, well-scoped solutions
- Collaborative and communicative: you work well across teams and functions, and you're comfortable navigating ambiguity
- Experience building or deeply using monitoring, alerting, or observability systems is a plus
- Familiarity with feature flagging, release automation, or developer tooling is a plus
