About the role
Accountabilities
- Lead the design and implementation of technical integrations connecting fintech partners with banking platforms, APIs, file-based interfaces, and payment rails.
- Develop integration architectures, data mappings, solution documentation, file specifications, validation standards, and partner-facing technical requirements.
- Build and maintain standardized integration patterns, onboarding playbooks, technical specifications, checklists, and process documentation to make partner implementations faster and lower risk.
- Own end-to-end technical onboarding for assigned partnerships, coordinating implementation plans, dependencies, testing, UAT, go-live readiness, and launch activities.
- Coordinate connectivity, file-feed validation, funds-flow requirements, and payment-rail enablement across ACH, wire, RTP, and FedNow.
- Partner with Fintech Operations, IT, Compliance, BSA, Risk, and other internal teams to resolve technical, operational, regulatory, and reconciliation requirements.
- Support third-party risk management, due diligence, account structuring, and ongoing oversight activities for fintech partnerships.
- Contribute technical and feasibility expertise to prospective partnership discussions, business cases, deal structuring, and pipeline development.
- Serve as the ongoing relationship owner for assigned partnerships, conducting business reviews and identifying opportunities for integration improvements and expansion.
- Represent the organization at selected industry conferences, partner meetings, site visits, and other business events, with approximately 15–25% travel as needed.
- Support banking programs involving cannabis-related businesses, money services businesses, and other higher-risk industries, including enhanced due diligence and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor evolving regulatory and industry developments affecting fintech, payments, cannabis banking, and other high-risk verticals, advising stakeholders on potential program implications.
- Continuously improve integration standards, documentation, onboarding processes, and program practices based on implementation experience and emerging best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in banking, fintech, payments, or financial services, particularly across implementation, solutions/integration, program management, or partnership functions.
- Demonstrated experience designing or coordinating technical integrations involving APIs, file-based interfaces, data exchanges, or similar technologies.
- Ability to lead technical discussions with partners and translate complex technology requirements into practical, partner-facing solutions.
- Strong ability to quickly understand new technology environments, data flows, operational processes, and integration architectures.
- Working knowledge of BSA/AML, KYC, third-party risk management, payments, and regulatory concepts relevant to banking partnerships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical, operational, and regulatory concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven program management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent implementations and partnerships.
- Self-motivated, analytical, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving environment.
- Preferred experience with cannabis-related banking programs, money services businesses, or other high-risk industries requiring enhanced due diligence.
- Familiarity with FinCEN's 2014 marijuana banking guidance, associated SAR requirements, and related compliance frameworks is preferred.
- Experience with direct fintech integrations on banking or issuer-processor platforms, sponsor banking, Banking-as-a-Service, or payments is advantageous.
- Experience developing standardized integration processes, file specifications, onboarding playbooks, or technical standards is preferred.
- International banking, cross-border payments, international fintech, or Islamic banking experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools used to monitor program performance is beneficial.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 10 lbs. and perform the physical activities associated with extended computer-based work.
- Proficiency in English and the ability to participate effectively in written and verbal business communications.
- Salary range of $100,000–$120,000, with final offers based on relevant qualifications and experience.
