About the role
Accountabilities
- Support and monitor maritime and port operations, with a primary focus on bunker activities and the movement of fuels and related products.
- Support Truck-to-Ship operations involving the supply and bunkering of vessels by truck.
- Evaluate, approve, and authorize vessels for operations, ensuring that required documentation, standards, and operational requirements are met.
- Support Vetting, SIRE (Ship Inspection Report Programme), and BIRE (Barge Inspection Report Programme) processes related to vessel assessment and approval.
- Monitor and support vessel inspections and port operations, ensuring activities are conducted according to established safety and operational standards.
- Support lubricant manufacturing operations in Rio de Janeiro, including operational checklists, monitoring, and activity follow-up.
- Support maritime and river-based fuel distribution operations, ensuring compliance with operational and documentation requirements.
- Track and follow up on corrective action plans resulting from inspections, audits, and operational assessments.
- Participate in internal and external audits, including those related to applicable industry standards and requirements.
- Support projects involving the qualification of new suppliers, implementation of new routes, and development of logistics solutions.
- Work closely with suppliers, partners, and internal teams to ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and operational procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the evolution of operational standards and practices.
- Maintain interaction with international teams and participate in forums, committees, and discussions related to maritime and river operations.
- Completed bachelor’s degree.
- Professional experience in port, maritime, and/or river operations.
- Knowledge of bunker operations and the handling and movement of fuels and related petroleum products.
- Knowledge of Ship-to-Ship (STS) and Truck-to-Ship operations.
- Knowledge of Vetting and SIRE processes, including vessel assessment and approval procedures.
- Knowledge of ISGOTT (International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals).
- Understanding of operational safety and environmental standards, procedures, and requirements.
- Knowledge of cargo handling, storage, loading, unloading, and transportation processes.
- Knowledge of product quality requirements, particularly for fuels and related products such as S10 diesel, S500 diesel, and ethanol.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and practices.
- Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to interact with international teams and participate in professional discussions.
- Availability to travel according to operational requirements.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and operational priorities.
- Resilient, collaborative, proactive profile with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Experience with vessel bunkering and/or bunker operations is a strong advantage.
- Experience evaluating, inspecting, and approving vessels is desirable.
- Experience working with fuels and petroleum-derived products is a plus.
- Experience with audits, corrective action management, and supplier qualification is advantageous.
- Experience with projects involving new maritime routes or logistics solutions is a plus.
