- Translate business objectives—including lead generation, leasing, SEO, personalization, experimentation, and campaign enablement—into practical technical strategies and scalable solutions.
- Remain hands-on in architecture, development, code reviews, technical design, and engineering standards while serving as the technical example for the team.
- Lead the evolution of a Sitecore-based, headless web ecosystem, including personalization, experimentation, content delivery, and modern frontend architecture.
- Guide strategy for site search and discovery, ensuring relevance, scalability, performance, and user experience remain aligned with business goals.
- Partner with marketing and content teams to evolve content management and operational capabilities.
- Coordinate with data, AI, and infrastructure teams on integrations involving platforms such as Cosmos DB, Salesforce, and Databricks without owning the broader enterprise architecture.
- Champion AI-assisted development through tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot, establishing responsible and high-leverage practices across the engineering team.
- Strengthen automated testing through unit testing, visual regression testing, and other quality practices that support faster AI-assisted development.
- Evaluate and adopt AI-enabled capabilities for content operations, personalization, experimentation, and testing.
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineers through technical coaching, performance management, career planning, and targeted hiring.
- Build a culture of shared ownership by documenting architecture, integrations, operational procedures, and platform knowledge while cross-training team members.
- Own L2/L3 production support, break-fix resolution, release processes, deployment standards, and on-call practices, ensuring platform issues are resolved within established SLAs.
- Represent the web platform in enterprise technology planning and collaborate across global teams to align technical direction with broader organizational priorities.
- 10+ years of experience in web platform or CMS engineering, with deep and current hands-on expertise in Sitecore AI and headless implementations.
- Strong experience with modern headless frontend architectures and Vercel or comparable deployment platforms.
- Deep expertise with enterprise search technologies such as Coveo, Algolia, Elasticsearch, or similar; Coveo experience is particularly valuable.
- Strong proficiency with Git and modern CI/CD practices, including experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and/or Azure DevOps.
- At least 5 years of experience leading engineering teams, with a demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and support long-term career development.
- Proven experience partnering closely with product managers or product leads in a peer relationship to jointly shape technical and product direction.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot, with concrete examples of how AI has improved development workflows.
- Strong understanding of automated testing, observability, deployment practices, and production support for enterprise web platforms.
- Excellent executive communication skills and the ability to explain technical strategy, architecture, risks, and trade-offs to senior technology and business stakeholders.
- A pragmatic and adaptable leadership style, with the ability to make decisions in ambiguous environments and adjust quickly when circumstances change.
- Strong collaboration, documentation, knowledge-sharing, and mentoring skills, with a commitment to distributing technical ownership across the team.
- Experience partnering with marketing teams on content management and digital operations is preferred.
- Experience working on conversion-focused platforms such as lead-generation or e-commerce products is a plus.
- Experience supporting platforms across multiple geographic regions is advantageous.
- Datadog or comparable monitoring and observability experience is preferred.
