About the role
Position Summary
The Director, Sales Compensation Design & Operations serves as a strategic leader responsible for governance, operational execution, financial integrity, and scalable compensation administration across Empower’s hyper-growth 503A and 503B environment. This role owns incentive design support, commission operations, audit readiness, forecasting accuracy, and compensation system governance while aligning sales incentives with revenue performance, operational capacity, and financial planning objectives. Leveraging AI as a force multiplier, the Director improves forecasting speed, payout accuracy, operational scalability, and executive visibility through automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent validation frameworks. The position partners closely with Sales, Finance, HR, and Executive Leadership to strengthen compensation governance, reduce operational risk, and enable sustainable growth. Success requires P80–P90 talent demonstrating strategic thinking, execution rigor, learning agility, enterprise ownership, and transformational operational leadership.
Responsibilities
Governance, Audit & Risk Control
- Audit Governance: Own enterprise accountability for commission accuracy through structured validation frameworks, multi-system reconciliation processes, and scalable audit-ready operational controls supporting compensation integrity across complex organizational structures. Implement AI-enabled monitoring capabilities, automated exception management, and governance standards that proactively identify risks, strengthen reporting accuracy, improve compliance alignment, and ensure compensation operations remain transparent, reliable, and operationally scalable within a highly regulated business environment.
- Risk Mitigation: Design and implement compensation audit architecture validating calculations, process adherence, data integrity, and operational compliance across incentive programs and financial workflows. Develop predictive monitoring frameworks, AI-supported anomaly detection, and standardized governance procedures that improve operational visibility, reduce financial exposure, accelerate issue resolution.
