About the role
Accountabilities
- Own the quarterly and long-term performance marketing strategy, aligning paid acquisition, lifecycle marketing, conversion initiatives, and channel investments with signup and growth objectives.
- Develop clear channel strategies, investment plans, performance targets, and contingency plans to ensure acquisition goals remain on track.
- Lead optimization of paid search and display programs, including ad creative, messaging, bidding strategies, budget allocation, and campaign performance.
- Develop strategies that support both high-volume acquisition and expansion into larger, higher-value customer segments.
- Identify, evaluate, and build business cases for emerging acquisition channels such as paid social, affiliate marketing, direct mail, out-of-home advertising, and other opportunities.
- Partner with Sales and Revenue Operations to connect marketing spend with qualified pipeline, revenue, and downstream conversion rather than focusing solely on top-of-funnel metrics.
- Collaborate with content, social, SEO, and answer-engine optimization teams to ensure paid and organic acquisition strategies complement and reinforce one another.
- Monitor changes in the search ecosystem, including AI-generated search results and LLM-driven discovery, and develop strategies to strengthen visibility across traditional and AI-powered channels.
- Establish performance measurement frameworks and use analytics, attribution, and experimentation to continuously improve channel efficiency and marketing ROI.
- Translate complex marketing data into clear recommendations and strategic insights for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Lead rapid experimentation across channels, messaging, creative, targeting, and investment levels, using results to refine strategy and identify scalable opportunities.
- Represent the performance marketing perspective across the broader marketing organization and contribute expertise to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Manage agency relationships and external partners where appropriate, ensuring execution quality, accountability, and alignment with performance objectives.
- Develop the roadmap for the performance marketing function over the next 12–18 months, including future capabilities, processes, technology, and potential headcount requirements.
- 7+ years of experience in performance marketing, growth marketing, demand generation, or a closely related discipline, including significant experience within B2B SaaS.
- Proven experience owning performance marketing strategy and budgets rather than focusing solely on campaign execution.
- Deep expertise across paid acquisition channels, particularly paid search and display, with a strong understanding of metrics such as PPC, CPM, ROAS, conversion rates, and customer acquisition economics.
- Demonstrated ability to identify the channels and investments most likely to drive meaningful business outcomes.
- Strong analytical capabilities and hands-on experience with platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, attribution tools, and related marketing technology.
- Ability to translate performance data into clear, commercially relevant recommendations for senior leadership.
- Experience designing and executing rapid experiments and adapting marketing strategies based on quantitative results.
- Scrappy, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to achieve meaningful outcomes within lean teams, constrained budgets, and ambiguous environments.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools effectively in day-to-day marketing work, with examples of how AI has improved the speed, quality, efficiency, or scale of your output.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across a remote and asynchronous organization and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with a willingness to remain hands-on and execute when required.
- Experience managing marketing agencies and/or direct reports is preferred.
- Experience working across self-serve, product-led, and sales-assisted growth models is advantageous.
- Competitive compensation of $198,000–$218,000 annually.
