About the role
Accountabilities
- Lead the integration of ambulatory surgery center construction projects, including new developments, relocations, expansions, renovations, and other facility initiatives, ensuring alignment across clinical, construction, licensing, regulatory, and operational functions.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for integration execution, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring projects progress toward successful operational activation and Day One readiness.
- Establish and manage integrated master schedules covering construction, equipment, staffing, workflows, regulatory approvals, and other operational milestones.
- Coordinate state licensing, accreditation readiness, inspections, approvals, documentation, and other regulatory requirements necessary for facility openings.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could affect project timelines, costs, compliance, operational readiness, or patient care.
- Lead project progress reviews, issue resolution, stakeholder communications, and recurring reporting to operational and senior leadership teams.
- Develop and maintain integration frameworks, project management tools, standardized processes, timelines, and documentation that can be scaled across current and future projects.
- Support strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating KPIs, identifying process opportunities, and recommending improvements to integration performance and operational outcomes.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders to support strategic decisions, resource allocation, financial objectives, and project execution.
- Partner with operations, clinical, facilities, development, and other functional teams to coordinate equipment readiness, staffing, workflows, facility compliance, and go-live activities.
- Drive change management and support smooth transitions for newly developed or relocated facilities by proactively addressing operational and cultural challenges.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, mentorship, and professional development across integration and facilities management teams.
- Capture lessons learned and establish knowledge-sharing practices to improve future integrations and promote consistency across projects.
- Explore technology, automation, and predictive analytics opportunities that can improve integration workflows, risk mitigation, resource optimization, and project efficiency.
- Build productive relationships with facility leaders, administrators, industry partners, and other external stakeholders while staying current with healthcare construction, accreditation, and regulatory trends.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with at least 8 years of experience in healthcare services, operations, integration, facilities, construction, or project management.
- Strong project management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and demanding timelines.
- Experience navigating state-specific healthcare permitting, licensing, and Certificate of Need (CON) processes where applicable.
- Strong understanding of healthcare construction requirements, life safety codes, facility regulations, and accreditation standards such as AAAHC and CMS.
- Experience coordinating inspections, regulatory approvals, documentation, and operational requirements for healthcare facility openings.
- A clinical background such as Registered Nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or Allied Health Professional experience is strongly preferred.
- PMP or CAPM certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to use data and KPIs to evaluate performance, identify risks, and guide decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder-management abilities, with confidence influencing senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, process improvement, change management, and operational excellence.
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, prioritize multiple initiatives, and maintain accountability for complex project outcomes.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to facilities and project sites as required.
