About the role
Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute distribution strategies that accelerate new business growth, improve retention, and support profitable expansion across Individual Dental markets.
- Identify and expand broker, agency, strategic partner, and digital distribution opportunities to increase market reach and strengthen competitive positioning.
- Establish growth plans aligned with organizational priorities, market trends, customer needs, and emerging distribution opportunities.
- Lead sales performance management across distribution channels, including forecasting, pipeline oversight, production analysis, retention reporting, and partner productivity.
- Establish clear performance expectations, operating cadences, accountability mechanisms, and business reviews to drive consistent execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, general agencies, strategic partners, and digital distribution organizations, serving as a senior advisor and business leader.
- Oversee direct-to-consumer sales and retention operations, including outsourced call center partnerships, with accountability for conversion, retention, quality, service levels, staffing readiness, and overall performance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer acquisition, retention, broker experience, sales efficiency, and conversion.
- Develop sales enablement programs that equip brokers, distribution partners, and sales teams with the training, tools, resources, and processes required to succeed.
- Improve sales processes, reporting capabilities, commissions administration, support functions, and sales technology to enable scalable growth and operational excellence.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of sales and operations professionals, fostering accountability, collaboration, and strong organizational performance.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Technology, and other functions to prioritize growth initiatives and remove execution barriers.
- Influence strategic decisions and roadmap priorities related to distribution effectiveness, partner experience, digital capabilities, customer acquisition, and sales performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, distribution, broker management, strategic partnerships, health insurance, or a related industry.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, including managing managers and leading cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated success driving growth through broker, agency, strategic partner, digital, or direct-to-consumer channels.
- Deep knowledge of distribution models, sales operations, call center performance, partner management, customer acquisition, and retention strategies.
- Experience leading multiple functions within a sales or distribution organization, including sales enablement, reporting, process improvement, vendor management, and operational performance.
- Proven ability to build high-performing teams, coach leaders, and strengthen organizational effectiveness.
- Strong analytical, financial, forecasting, business-planning, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate data into actionable decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to turn strategic priorities into measurable execution plans and business outcomes.
- Strong experience influencing and collaborating across matrixed organizations and external partner ecosystems.
- Exceptional executive communication, presentation, negotiation, relationship-management, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
- Experience in Individual Dental, Vision, Supplemental Health, Medicare, or broader health insurance markets is preferred.
- Experience leading broker distribution and strategic partner ecosystems at a national or regional level is advantageous.
- Knowledge of digital marketplace distribution, call center sales operations, customer acquisition models, and third-party vendor management is preferred.
- For remote work, access to a cable broadband or fiber-optic internet connection with minimum speeds of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required.
- Annual salary: $151,100–$251,800 USD, depending on relevant factors including experience and geographic location.
