THE ROLE
AG1 is seeking an experienced Director, NPD Marketing (Contract) to provide strategic marketing support for 6-week engagement during a planned leave. This is a remote, project-based contract focused on advancing critical new product development work across positioning, messaging, and creative briefing.
In this role, you will partner closely with Brand Marketing, Creative, Consumer Insights, Growth, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop clear, actionable strategic outputs that guide downstream creative and go-to-market execution. You will help translate consumer insights, competitive context, product information, and brand strategy into positioning frameworks and messaging recommendations for upcoming innovation initiatives.
This engagement is designed around a focused set of priority deliverables within a defined timeline. The ideal candidate is a senior, strategic marketer who can quickly ramp, bring structure to complex inputs, and deliver polished, executive-ready work.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop positioning recommendations for emerging product or new category opportunities
- Build messaging hierarchies, core consumer benefits, proof points, and strategic narratives that can inform packaging, DTC, retail, and campaign execution
- Conduct or synthesize category and competitive landscape reviews to identify white space and differentiation opportunities
- Create creative briefs that provide clear direction for internal creative teams and/or agency partners
- Partner with Brand Marketing, Creative, Consumer Insights, and other cross-functional teams to refine work through structured review points
- Ensure recommendations are aligned with AG1 brand strategy, tone, consumer positioning, and quality standards
- Deliver clear, polished, ready-to-use documents that support timely creative and go-to-market planning
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years of experience in brand strategy, innovation marketing, product marketing, or new product development marketing
- Proven ability to develop positioning frameworks, messaging architecture, and creative briefs for consumer products
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear, actionable recommendations
- Experience developing positioning and messaging for new or evolving product spaces
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create polished, executive-ready deliverables
- Ability to collaborate effectively with brand, creative, insights, product, and go-to-market stakeholders
- Strong independent operator who can quickly
