About the role

Accountabilities:

    • Lead the global growth strategy: Own annual and long-range growth planning for the service organization, using customer insights, installed-base analytics, market trends, competitive intelligence, and regional input to establish priorities, investments, and execution plans.
    • Own service portfolio strategy: Guide lifecycle management, roadmap prioritization, new offering development, launch readiness, pricing, profitability, product mix, and retirement decisions across the global portfolio.
    • Drive commercial outcomes: Ensure offerings have clearly defined target segments, value propositions, commercial plans, operational requirements, margin expectations, and measurable business impact.
    • Align marketing and market development: Bring global marketing, regional market development, product management, and service sales together around priority campaigns, customer segments, messaging, and measurable growth initiatives.
    • Establish performance management: Develop KPIs, dashboards, and operating rhythms that connect marketing activity with pipeline quality, sales execution, renewals, service revenue, customer adoption, and margin performance.
    • Lead through functional leaders: Develop and empower leaders across Product Management, Global Marketing, Regional Market Development, Market Development Strategy, and Marketing Operations.
    • Build an integrated operating model: Establish clear decision rights, accountability structures, performance metrics, governance routines, and collaboration models across the growth organization.
    • Influence globally: Partner effectively with service sales, regional leadership, business units, finance, operations, technical support, IT, legal, and regulatory stakeholders across a global matrix.
    • Maximize the installed base: Increase contract penetration, renewal performance, recurring revenue, value-added service adoption, attach rates, and overall customer value.
    • Strengthen portfolio economics: Improve pricing discipline, profitability, product mix, lifecycle management, launch effectiveness, and margin contribution.
    • Scale value-added services: Develop repeatable, packageable, and margin-accretive services that can expand beyond expert-led delivery models.
    • Modernize operations: Leverage automation, analytics, AI, digital service models, remote support, predictive capabilities, and customer self-service to increase operating leverage and commercial effectiveness.
    • Develop organizational capability: Build a high-performing team through talent development, succession planning, engagement, and strong leadership practices.
    • Requirements:

      • 10+ years of progressive experience in product management, marketing, market development, or a closely related commercial leadership discipline.
      • Demonstrated success leading through functional leaders within a large, complex, global, and matrixed organization.
      • Strong understanding of B2B service business models, including service contracts, customer support, field service, technical support, and value-added services.
      • Proven track record of developing, commercializing, and scaling offerings that generate revenue growth, margin expansion, customer value, and repeatable adoption.
      • Strong commercial expertise across pricing, segmentation, funnel management, sales enablement, renewal improvement, value proposition development, and installed-base monetization.
      • Ability to use customer insights, market intelligence, financial analysis, business metrics, and data to develop strategy and translate it into measurable execution.
      • Strong understanding of portfolio lifecycle management, roadmap prioritization, investment tradeoffs, launch readiness, profitability, and product mix.
      • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, influencing, financial, and talent leadership skills.
      • A growth-oriented general management mindset, with the ability to connect portfolio, marketing, sales execution, and service delivery into a measurable growth engine.
      • Demonstrated ability to establish KPIs, dashboards, governance routines, decision rights, and accountability mechanisms that improve execution.
      • Strong global perspective and ability to balance standardized global strategies with regional market requirements.
      • Digital orientation and interest in applying AI, automation, analytics, and digital workflows to improve scalability and efficiency.
      • Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, analytical instruments, biotechnology, healthcare, medtech, industrial technology, enterprise software, semiconductor equipment, aerospace, or another technical B2B service environment is preferred.
      • Experience across North America, Europe, China, and emerging markets, particularly within regulated, scientific, technical, or mission-critical environments, is a plus.
      • Familiarity with digital service models, predictive maintenance, remote support, customer self-service, funnel velocity, or AI-enabled workflows is advantageous.
      • An MBA or advanced degree in business, marketing, science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

        • Competitive base salary: Estimated U.S. salary range of $176,000–$255,000 for positions based in California.
