The Role We are seeking an experienced and customer-obsessed Technical Account Manager (TAM) to join our global team. In this role, you will act as a strategic technical advisor to a set of key enterprise customers and partners, ensuring their success with Megaport's services. This is a post-sales overlay role, focused on customer support and enablement, technical relationship management, and long-term value delivery.As part of the Premium Support business function, you'll manage and support customers who have adopted our premium tier service offering. You'll be the primary point of contact for these customers, providing a high-touch experience that includes: Delivering enhanced support during incident response, assisting with prioritisation and escalations with internal teams and coordination with third-party/cloud providers. Proactive engagement offering technical consulting and advisory services, conducting regular network performance reviews, and guiding customers on current and future use of Megaport's services. This role also has a significant focus on enabling System Integrators (SIs) and Value-Added Resellers (VARs). You'll collaborate closely with network and cybersecurity integrators and ecosystem vendors to drive adoption of Megaport's platform and services through third-party channels.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support data centre strategy, procurement, and commercial activities across the Americas, including North America and Latin America.
Work closely with the Director of Data Centre Strategy and regional colleagues across EMEA and APAC.
Analyse and prepare business cases to support data centre expansion, optimisation, and other strategic initiatives.
Support supplier negotiations and manage commercial discussions with data centre operators and infrastructure partners.
Contribute to the development of the annual cost of goods sold (COGS) budget.
Collaborate with Finance to prepare monthly COGS reporting, including value-added commentary.
Provide monthly reporting on key performance indicators relating to data centre and network costs.
Engage with Network Engineering and Operations teams to support data centre strategy and network expansion.
Maintain market intelligence on data centre operators, facilities, pricing, and industry developments.
Maintain accurate procurement, supplier, contract, and commercial records.
Support special projects and strategic initiatives as directed by management.
What We're Looking For
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement, vendor management, business development, telecommunications, data centres, or a related field.
Experience managing contracts and suppliers, ideally across multiple vendors or regions.
Commercial understanding of data centre services, colocation, network transport, internet transit, or related telecommunications infrastructure.
Familiarity with networking concepts and technologies preferred.
Confidence reviewing contractual terms and engaging with suppliers on commercial discussions and negotiations.
Strong analytical and financial skills, with experience in budgeting, business cases, or cost analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of activities, and work effectively across different time zones.
