Data Analyst - Data Center Project Controls
About the role
Basic Function
As a part of the Data Center organization, the Data Analyst supports cost management and project controls by developing standardized tools, analyzing project cost data, and enabling data-driven decision-making across data center construction projects. This individual plays a key role in supporting Cost Managers and Schedule Management by building and maintaining Estimate at Completion (EAC) templates, preparing corporate reporting materials, and conducting cost and schedule benchmarking across projects. They will demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple datasets and priorities, and deliver accurate insights under tight deadlines. The Data Analyst will help establish consistent data practices and contribute to building a reliable cost and schedule baseline for current and future projects.
Responsibilities
- Support Cost Managers in maintaining accurate and consistent cost data structures across multiple active projects.
- Aggregate, clean, and analyze project cost data to support forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.
- Prepare corporate reporting materials, including dashboards, presentations, and executive summaries for senior leadership.
- Conduct benchmarking analysis by comparing cost and schedule data across projects, regions, and scopes to identify trends, variances, and key drivers.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining cost baselines and unit rate libraries for key data center construction components (e.g., MEP systems, structural, and site work).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project and corporate standards.
- Support development of data visualization tools and dashboards to enhance transparency and usability of cost data.
- Validate and reconcile data from multiple sources, ensuring integrity and reliability of reporting outputs.
- Assist with ad hoc analysis and reporting requests from project teams and senior leadership.
- Effectively communicate insights, trends, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Conduct all work with a high level of integrity and attention to detail, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of sensitive financial data.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required (Data Analytics, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred)
- 2–5 years of experience in data analysis, project controls, cost engineering, or related field
- Experience working with large datasets and building analytical models, preferred
