About the role

Accountabilities

    • Lead or co-lead technical and advisory projects, independently managing deliverables with limited day-to-day oversight while maintaining a high standard of client satisfaction.
    • Design, administer, and analyze assessments and surveys focused on health equity, cultural and linguistic responsiveness, program standards, workforce needs, and strategic initiatives.
    • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses at program, department, and system levels, translating findings into practical recommendations.
    • Develop and refine evaluation approaches and frameworks that enable agencies to monitor health equity outcomes and progress over time.
    • Support data-to-action initiatives by helping clients translate evidence and findings into concrete quality improvement strategies.
    • Design and maintain performance measurement frameworks, implementation metrics, reporting systems, and dashboards aligned with organizational goals.
    • Collect, validate, manage, and analyze implementation data, including process measures, performance indicators, and strategy-related information.
    • Analyze social determinants of health and community needs assessment data using appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods.
    • Create clear data visualizations, summary tables, executive summaries, presentations, evaluation reports, dashboards, and other high-quality client deliverables.
    • Present findings and facilitate evaluation, quality improvement, data interpretation, and cross-team alignment discussions with varied audiences.
    • Help integrate equity standards and performance measures across programs and vendor activities where appropriate.
    • Develop tools, templates, guidance, and documentation that strengthen client capabilities in evaluation, performance measurement, and data reporting.
    • Provide planning, facilitation, technical assistance, and meeting documentation related to data and evaluation activities.
    • Coordinate data collection, reporting, and evaluation activities across initiatives to improve consistency and reduce duplication.
    • Contribute to proposals, business development activities, project design, and approximately 10% of organizational business development efforts.
    • Support and mentor junior team members when appropriate and contribute to continuous improvement across the broader consulting practice.
    • Requirements

      • 4–6 years of relevant applied public health experience, including at least 2 years in a consulting firm or comparable client-service environment.
      • Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, or a related field.
      • At least 1–4 years of direct client-facing experience, with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with agency stakeholders.
      • Demonstrated experience in program evaluation, survey research, epidemiology, or a related analytical discipline, particularly involving health equity measurement.
      • Experience working within or supporting state, local, or federal health departments is strongly preferred.
      • Direct experience with racial equity or health equity-focused data initiatives is strongly preferred.
      • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including survey design, administration, and analysis.
      • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, R, Tableau, REDCap, or comparable platforms.
      • Understanding of evaluation frameworks, performance measurement, and PDSA/Quality Improvement methodologies.
      • Familiarity with public health systems and practices at the state and local levels.
      • Knowledge of health equity measurement practices and standards, including CLAS, racial equity strategies, or similar frameworks, is a plus.
      • Exceptional organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and concurrent deliverables while meeting deadlines.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex technical findings into clear and actionable messages for different audiences.
      • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to guide quality improvement sessions, evaluation discussions, and cross-functional meetings.
      • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote, client-embedded environment.
      • Willingness and ability to occasionally travel for client meetings, conferences, or other professional engagements.
      • Alignment with a collaborative, action-oriented, equity-focused, learning-driven, and quality-conscious working style.

        • Annual salary range of $87,360–$120,640, with typical new-hire placement between the range minimum and midpoint depending on experience, internal equity, and budget.
