About the role
Accountabilities
- Manage day-to-day social media activity across multiple brand channels, including Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, and YouTube.
- Develop and maintain social content calendars aligned with marketing campaigns, seasonal opportunities, and individual brand priorities.
- Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages, and actively cultivate growing, engaged audiences.
- Track social performance and provide regular reporting on audience growth, engagement, content effectiveness, and other relevant metrics.
- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage influencers and brand ambassadors across boating, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and broader outdoor recreation communities.
- Build authentic, long-term relationships with creators and partners while managing agreements, briefs, deliverables, activations, and performance tracking.
- Develop a pipeline of user-generated content, influencer assets, and partner-created materials to support marketing initiatives across the brand portfolio.
- Coordinate content sourcing with internal marketing teams, identify content gaps, and manage rights, permissions, licensing, and approved-content libraries.
- Represent the brands authentically across relevant online forums and niche communities, including Reddit and hunting, fishing, and boating forums.
- Monitor brand mentions and community conversations, respond appropriately, and communicate audience insights and emerging trends to marketing and product stakeholders.
- Develop initiatives to expand brand reach through social platforms, influencer and ambassador networks, podcasts, partnerships, sponsored content, and emerging channels.
- Identify and pursue co-marketing, podcast, partnership, and other external opportunities that can increase awareness and engagement.
- Support earned-media and PR activities by amplifying brand stories, contributing to media outreach, and connecting community activity with potential press opportunities.
- Collaborate across marketing, brand, creative, and other teams to ensure community and content initiatives support broader campaign and business objectives.
- Stay current on platform trends, algorithm changes, community norms, emerging formats, and evolving digital engagement practices.
- 3+ years of experience in social media management, community management, influencer marketing, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated success managing social channels and developing engaged audiences.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with influencers, ambassadors, creators, or other external partners.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and voice across different platforms, audiences, and brand identities.
- Excellent organizational and project-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple brands, partners, content pipelines, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Comfort participating in niche online communities and engaging audiences in an authentic, helpful, and culturally aware manner.
- Experience sourcing user-generated content and managing content rights, permissions, and licensing.
- Strong understanding of digital and social media trends, platform functionality, audience engagement, and emerging content formats.
- Excellent relationship-management skills and the ability to build trust with creators, community members, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across distributed marketing, brand, creative, and product teams.
- Genuine passion for outdoor recreation; experience or interest in hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, or related activities is strongly valued.
- Familiarity with social media management platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or Later is a plus.
- Basic graphic design capabilities using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite are advantageous.
- Experience in communications, public relations, earned media, media outreach, press pitching, or brand storytelling is a plus.
- Familiarity with outdoor recreation, safety education, licensing, or related industries is beneficial.
- Candidates must reside in one of the following U.S. states: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NV, OR, PA, RI, TX, VA, VT, or WI, or in Ontario, Canada.
