About the role

About CookUnity

Food has lost its soul to modern convenience. And with it, it has lost the power to nourish, inspire, and connect us. So in 2018, CookUnity was founded as the first-of-its-kind platform that connects the world with the source of truly great food: chefs. Today, CookUnity delivers 50 million meals a year from the industry’s best chefs to homes all over the country. Fresh. Ready-to-eat. And crafted with the passion that nourishes body and soul.

Unwilling to stop there, CookUnity is expanding beyond delivery to become an ever-innovating marketplace focused on our singular mission: empower Chefs to nourish the world.

If that mission has you hungry in more ways than one, you’ve found the right job posting.

The Team

The Business Analytics team is the analytical engine behind CookUnity's growth. We sit at the center of the business to turn behavioral and marketplace data into the decisions that shape acquisition, retention, pricing, and membership. From forecasting and goal-setting to experiment readouts and board-level analysis, this team owns the numbers that leadership relies on to steer the company.

It's a small, high-trust team of analysts who work close to the business, own their stakeholder relationships directly, and hold each other to a high analytical bar through peer review.

The Role

We're looking for a Business Analytics Manager to lead our Business Analytics team and own the analytical strategy that drives CookUnity's core growth and retention agenda. Reporting to the Head of Data, you'll manage a team of analysts, set priorities against the company's most important questions, and be the analytical partner senior stakeholders come to when they need clarity.

This is a player-coach role. You'll spend part of your time leading — coaching analysts, managing stakeholder demand, and raising the quality of the team's work — and part of your time hands-on in the data on the highest-stakes questions.

You'll be stepping into a well-established function with strong momentum and a talented team, with the mandate to shape its next chapter as CookUnity scales.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Business Analytics team. Manage, coach, and develop a team of analysts. Set clear priorities, unblock the team, and create the space for people to step up and own more.
  • Own stakeholder management. Be the primary analytical partner to Growth, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations leaders — translating ambiguous business questions into sharp analysis and clear recommendations.
  • Design and read out experiments. Partner on the design of A/B tests and holdouts, ensure they're measured rigorously, and translate results into decisions the business can act on — separating causal impact from correlation.
  • Own forecasting and goal-setting. Build and maintain the forecasts and goal-sizing (e.g. half-year targets) that leadership plans against.
  • Safeguard analytical quality. Run and evolve the team's peer-review process, and sign off on board- and executive-level analysis before it goes out.
  • Set the standard. Establish and uphold best practices for how the team works — from analytical rigor and reproducibility to how insights are communicated and prioritized.
