About the role
Accountabilities:
- Operate and continuously improve the CIO Office rhythm, including leadership meetings, strategic reviews, planning sessions, quarterly checkpoints, and governance forums.
- Prepare executive agendas, briefing materials, presentations, speaking points, pre-reads, decision-support documents, and leadership communications.
- Maintain action logs, decision registers, commitment trackers, and follow-up mechanisms to strengthen accountability and ensure commitments move to completion.
- Coordinate with technology leaders and key stakeholders to facilitate decision follow-through, resolve bottlenecks, and surface issues requiring executive attention.
- Own the preparation, coordination, and quality control of monthly Technology & Delivery KPI reporting, dashboards, and scorecards.
- Analyze performance data, identify trends and risks, and translate complex operational information into concise, actionable executive insights.
- Prepare materials for senior management reviews, strategic councils, board updates, supervisory committee presentations, and other executive forums.
- Translate CIO and enterprise priorities into clear execution themes, milestones, owners, and measurable outcomes.
- Operate the technology governance framework, including governance forums, agendas, pre-reads, decisions, minutes, action tracking, and follow-up.
- Partner with PMO leadership to strengthen portfolio visibility, prioritization, reporting quality, escalation practices, and governance maturity.
- Identify cross-functional dependencies, resource conflicts, execution risks, and unresolved decisions, framing options and recommendations for leadership.
- Support annual operating plans, quarterly business reviews, strategic planning, leadership goal-setting, and portfolio prioritization.
- Develop executive-ready narratives from complex technical, operational, and project information, ensuring communication is clear and appropriately tailored to the audience.
- Drive accountability across leadership teams by tracking commitments, facilitating follow-through, and surfacing competing priorities or coordination gaps.
- Lead or coordinate strategic technology initiatives involving areas such as AI governance, data management, knowledge management, digital banking, PMO maturity, technology governance, and organizational effectiveness.
- Represent CIO priorities and intent in selected forums when delegated and maintain alignment across technology and business stakeholders.
- Conduct research, analysis, benchmarking, and synthesis to support strategic recommendations and organizational decisions.
- Ensure technology operations and departmental activities remain aligned with applicable organizational policies, industry requirements, regulations, and governance standards.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in technology operations, business operations, strategy, PMO leadership, management consulting, governance, transformation, portfolio management, or executive office operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, technology management, information systems, organizational leadership, finance, or a related discipline preferred.
- MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.
- Experience supporting senior executives, executive leadership teams, governance forums, organizational change, and enterprise-level decision-making.
- Experience creating executive presentations, KPI reporting, board-level materials, dashboards, scorecards, or strategic planning materials.
- Experience in financial services, banking, credit unions, technology, consulting, or another regulated environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of technology delivery, service operations, governance, portfolio management, risk, and organizational effectiveness.
- Exceptional executive synthesis skills, with the ability to turn complex, ambiguous, or incomplete information into clear narratives, options, recommendations, and decisions.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to connect technology operations and strategic priorities to broader organizational outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive accountability without relying exclusively on formal authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, prioritization, and project coordination capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple executives, priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- High degree of discretion, professionalism, confidentiality, judgment, and executive presence.
- Strong initiative, self-direction, adaptability, and ability to learn specialized applications and systems quickly.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and collaboration platforms.
- Experience with Power BI, Smartsheet, Jira, ServiceNow, portfolio management tools, or dashboarding platforms is preferred.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Ability to demonstrate a growth mindset, change-ready leadership, responsibility, problem solving, technology and data fluency, diversity and inclusion, communication excellence, and strong business acumen.
- Ability to work extensively at a computer for extended periods and participate in meetings and presentations through telephone and digital platforms.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, or carry items weighing up to approximately 20 pounds.
- Base salary range varies by geographic zone:
- Zone 1: $141,728–$194,876
- Zone 2: $128,972.48–$177,337.16
- Zone 3: $119,051.52–$163,695.84
- Zone 4: $113,382.40–$155,900.80
- Eligibility for a Corporate Incentive Plan with an annual incentive opportunity of 0–8% of incentive-eligible earnings, based on institutional and individual performance.
