About the role

Wishpond Technologies currently has the position of Associate Account Director available, and we’re excited to tell you about it!

OVERVIEW

We're looking for a full-time Associate Account Director to serve as a key player-coach in our Account Management department. Positioned as the stepping stone between Account Manager and Account Director, this role is built for a sharp digital marketing leader who delivers exceptional client work and is ready to develop and coach others

This is a hands-on marketing leadership role, not a sales role. You will not carry a quota or sell new business. Instead, you will carry a focused portfolio of approximately 12 VIP accounts while directly managing, coaching, and serving as the Quality Assurance (QA) gate for 2 to 3 Account Managers

At Wishpond, we pair a modern AI tool stack with strategic, accountable people to deliver speed, consistency, and genuine ROI for small and mid-sized businesses across North America. In collaboration with company leadership, you will set campaign strategy, utilize AI tools to produce high-quality work, review your team's output, and coach your AMs to improve campaign quality and client satisfaction, setting the stage for your growth into an Account Director role

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own a VIP portfolio of approximately 12 high-value client accounts, set strategy, run kickoffs, review deliverables, and own the client relationship end-to-end.
  • Coach and develop 2 to 3 Account Managers, review their work before it reaches clients, provide real-time feedback, and help them improve campaign quality and client communication.
  • Be the QA gate for your AMs' output, assets, copy, campaigns, and reporting; don't leave the team without your sign-off.
  • Use AI marketing tools to produce high-quality work efficiently and teach your AMs to do the same.
  • Escalate thoughtfully, surface systemic issues to your Director; handle day-to-day challenges within your team.
  • Model the standard; your own client work sets the bar for what "great" looks like on this team.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding new AMs as the team evolves.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years in digital marketing with hands-on experience across paid media (Meta/Google), SEO, email, and conversion-focused landing pages. You've done the work, not just managed it.
  • Hands-on experience designing and executing full-funnel marketing strategies that drive measurable marketing ROI for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs).
  • Proven track record of strong client retention and growth, building trusted, long-term relationships.
  • Strong coaching instincts and a genuine desire to develop people, with an interest in mentoring, training, or onboarding Account Managers.
  • A collaborative, highly effective communicator, comfortable and credible leading senior client-facing conversations (kickoffs, strategy, reporting) as well as clear internal direction.
  • Comfort working across a full AI tool stack and AI-assisted marketing workflows, with the agility to learn new technology quickly.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and owning outcomes, serving as the primary Quality Assurance (QA) gate for team deliverables.
  • Technical, analytical, and results-driven, with strong administrative and organizational skills to multitask in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • As part of a diverse team, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Organized, administratively strong, and have solid writing, phone, and general communication skills.
  • Experience in an SMB-focused marketing agency or SaaS environment - preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with GoHighLevel (GHL) - an advantage, not a requirement.
  • Fluent in English; most of our clients are based in the US and Canada

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This is a 100% remote position, and the individual could be based anywhere outside of Canada.
  • Given the nature of this role, it is expected that the successful candidate will provide their own workstation, computer, and headset and have a fast and reliable internet connection. Certain roles will be required to utilize and or download company-approved software.
  • The individual must be willing to work standard business hours in either the Pacific Time Zone or the Eastern Time Zone.
  • Due to the nature of this role, we may verify backgrounds, including conducting employment references, criminal records, and credit checks.
  • Once hired, the successful candidate must provide a governmental photo ID and proof of residential address as part of the onboarding process.
