AI Software Engineer

Accountabilities

• • Lead the implementation and adoption of AI-assisted and autonomous software development practices across engineering teams.
  • Deliver strategic, revenue-impacting software enhancements using AI-enabled development workflows combined with human testing, review, and validation.
  • Establish and continuously improve standards, governance processes, quality controls, and risk-management practices for AI-generated code.
  • Create and maintain engineering playbooks, best practices, operating procedures, and repeatable workflows for AI-enabled software delivery.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Architecture, and Applied AI teams to align priorities, resolve delivery obstacles, and support successful implementation.
  • Develop automated build, testing, validation, and verification frameworks that enable fast, reliable, and high-quality software releases.
  • Ensure AI-assisted solutions meet established requirements for software quality, security, compliance, testing, and release management.
  • Coach and mentor engineers on effectively incorporating AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle while maintaining strong engineering standards.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions, workshops, documentation, and enablement resources to build organizational capability in AI-assisted development.
  • Monitor adoption, engineering productivity, quality indicators, and business outcomes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to communities of practice that encourage knowledge sharing, experimentation, and consistent adoption of modern engineering methodologies.
  • Champion automation, AI-enabled productivity, and modern software engineering practices across the organization.
  • Take on increasing technical leadership responsibilities as AI-assisted development practices scale, with potential progression toward a formal leadership role.

  Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading software development initiatives within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong foundation in software engineering, application architecture, modern development methodologies, and engineering best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools, developer productivity platforms, intelligent automation, or related technologies.
  • Demonstrated success delivering software products using Agile methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of software testing, quality assurance, CI/CD pipelines, automated validation, and release management.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and leading the adoption of new technologies, tools, processes, or development workflows.
  • Ability to balance innovation and delivery speed with software quality, security, compliance, and risk management.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience developing technical standards, governance frameworks, engineering playbooks, operating procedures, or enablement programs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver measurable business and engineering outcomes.
  • Familiarity with security, compliance, and regulated software development environments.

  Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience implementing AI-first or autonomous software development practices at scale.
  • Proven success improving engineering productivity through automation, intelligent tooling, or AI-enabled workflows.
  • Experience leading organizational change, engineering transformation, or technology adoption initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of human-in-the-loop development models and AI governance frameworks.
  • Ability to create repeatable engineering processes that can be adopted consistently across multiple teams.
  • Experience coaching engineers on effective collaboration with AI development tools while maintaining engineering excellence.
  • Experience building communities of practice, training programs, or organizational capability initiatives.
  • Background in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, or government.
  • Experience measuring, analyzing, and communicating the business impact of engineering transformation programs.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about emerging AI technologies and the ability to translate them into practical engineering outcomes.
