About the role
What You'll Do
Policy Research & Analysis
- Track and analyze AI policy developments at federal, state, and international levels, including legislation, regulation, executive actions, and emerging debates
- Develop policy briefs and strategic recommendations on AI regulation, safety, competition, privacy, and related issues
- Monitor AI's impact on jobs, the economy, and society, and advise on how Democrats should respond to these shifts
- Research and analyze strategies for combating AI-generated misinformation in elections
Messaging & Communications Strategy
- Design survey research and message testing to evaluate how voters think about AI and understand public opinion on AI-related issues
- Utilize Blue Rose’s research, draft messaging guides, talking points, and strategic communications frameworks to help Democratic stakeholders
- Translate complex technical and policy concepts into clear, compelling language for political audiences
Stakeholder Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Support BRR's leadership team in client presentations and stakeholder briefings on AI-related topics
- Represent Blue Rose Research as a subject matter expert on AI and politics at conferences, events, and convenings
- Position BRR as a trusted resource on AI policy and messaging within the Democratic ecosystem
Product Development
- Collaborate with BRR's data science and engineering teams to integrate AI policy expertise into our research products and tools
- Provide input on how BRR can leverage our existing message testing infrastructure to better serve clients on AI-related questions
- Identify opportunities to expand BRR's offerings in the AI and tech policy space
About You
- Deep knowledge of technology policy, particularly AI regulation, safety, ethics, competition, and governance
- 2-5 years of professional experience in tech policy, political campaigns, government, advocacy organizations, or related fields
- Background or familiarity with survey research, message testing, and/or polling methodology
- Strong understanding of the Democratic political ecosystem and current political dynamics
- Exceptional writer and communicator who can translate technical concepts for non-technical political audiences
- Comfortable presenting complex research to senior elected officials, campaign staff, and organizational leadership
- Self-starter who can proactively identify emerging issues and opportunities without constant direction
- Passionate about progressive politics and using research to help Democrats win elections and advance good policy
- Collaborative team player who works well across disciplines—comfortable coordinating with data scientists, researchers, and political strategists
Bonus Points:
- Technical knowledge of AI and machine learning systems
- Experience working on political campaigns, on Capitol Hill, or in progressive advocacy
