Accounting Manager (Controllership Focus)

We are looking for a high-performing Accountant with strong technical accounting fundamentals and a finance transformation mindset. Beyond core accounting and reporting, you will help transform Finance through AI, automation, data and technology, improving efficiency, controls, scalability and decision-making. Experience in consulting, finance transformation or technology-enabled finance, particularly within FinTech or digital assets, is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Manage financial and management reporting, including cash flow, tax, GST, budgeting and statutory reporting.
- Prepare and review annual reports, statutory accounts and management reports.
- Perform and review revenue, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and corporate governance requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents and external advisors.
- Identify and deliver opportunities to automate, simplify and transform finance processes.
- Leverage AI, GenAI, automation, data analytics and technology to improve accounting efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
- Partner with Finance Systems, Data, Engineering and business teams to implement technology-enabled finance solutions.
- Lead or support process improvement and finance transformation initiatives, challenging existing ways of working.
- Translate complex accounting requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy / Finance, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
- 8+ years' relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, consulting or finance transformation.
- Strong technical accounting, analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Experience in finance transformation, automation or consulting is highly preferred.
- Strong interest in AI, GenAI, automation, data and emerging finance technologies.
- Advanced MS Excel skills; ERP, BI, workflow automation or financial systems experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and project management skills.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Highly detail-oriented, curious and willing to challenge the status quo.
