ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:
TKWW is seeking an individual who is eager to learn, grow and take on new challenges within a general ledger accounting position. The Staff Accountant is someone who is flexible, has a solid accounting and technical foundation and aptitude, is detail-oriented, and has a desire to dive-in and roll-up their sleeves to gain an understanding of the company and the industry in which the company operates in. The Staff Accountant will support and participate in the monthly close process, explain account fluctuations, and compile key performance indicators. The Staff Accountant will also work closely with other departments and internal stakeholders on accounts receivable tasks.
This role is fully remote, with a preference for candidates based on the East Coast to align with the broader team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with month-end close procedures, including monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts, and preparation of journal entries in compliance with US GAAP.
- Maintain and monitor the Company’s general ledger (GL) and be responsible for obtaining supporting documentation for the GL activities, with a focus on revenue recognition.
- Collaborate with Billing & Collections teams on customer invoicing and payment issues.
- Prepare fluctuation analysis for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end periods for management reporting.
- Assist the Accounting Manager in establishing validation procedures to support both internal and external monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements.
- Assist in preparing for financial audits and responses to queries from external auditors.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring adherence to company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Document accounting policies, procedures, and technical accounting analyses as required.
- Interact with various levels of staff and management across Accounting as well as other departments to obtain information, resolve issues and provide support on ad hoc projects, as needed.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 0-2 years of experience
- CPA eligibility or certification preferred
- Ability to effectively extend knowledge and skills in a financial discipline
