Role
We are looking for a Senior Quantum Sales Executive will be part of our US Go-To-Market team whose mission is to bring IonQ’s offering—including Quantum Hardware (Systems and Networks), Software, Applications, and Access—to a curated set of clients across the Financial Services ecosystem (Tier 1 Banks, Capital Markets/Hedge Funds, and Insurance). This is an individual contributor role with potential to build a team down the road.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and own executive-level relationships (e.g., Chief Risk Officers, Heads of Quantitative Strategy, BU/Function leads) at target accounts in partnership with your Field Engineer counterpart.
- Pipeline Generation: Develop a pipeline of sales opportunities across IonQ’s full stack, including Quantum Computing for portfolio optimization, Quantum Networking for secure financial data transfer, and Quantum Sensing for high-precision timing in trading.
- Strategic Qualification: Qualify and prioritize pipeline opportunities based on client impact potential, financial profitability, timing, and long-term strategic alignment with IonQ’s roadmap.
- Full Lifecycle Ownership: Own all phases of the sales lifecycle—from relationship development and technical qualification to proposal/RFP response, complex negotiations, and deal closure.
- Internal Collaboration: Ensure support of the broader IonQ organization to successfully pursue high-value opportunities throughout the sales cycle.
- Retention & Expansion: Partner with Customer Success post-sale to ensure high satisfaction, driving renewals and identifying opportunities for incremental revenue
You’d be a good fit with:
- Industry GTM Tenure: Minimum of 10 years of experience selling to the Financial Services Industry with quota-carrying responsibilities and a proven ability to close multi-million dollar platform or infrastructure deals.
- HPC/Analytics Infrastructure Sales: Experience selling high-performance computing (HPC), AI/ML infrastructure (hardware or software) to the industry.
- Industry Network: Existing relationships within Fortune 100 Financial Institutions (including Global Money Center Banks, Hedge funds/Institutional Asset Managers, and global Insurance providers.
