We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team in India. In this role, you will help support and improve the reliability of our Linux-based database systems running in on-premises environments and local OpenStack cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on relational databases and additional exposure to NoSQL platforms such as Apache Cassandra. This is a senior-level position for an engineer who is deeply hands-on, comfortable working independently, and experienced in supporting business-critical systems in production!
You will work closely with teams across Eastern European and Indian time zones, providing strong operational support, troubleshooting complex issues, and delivering assigned infrastructure and reliability projects from start to finish. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys solving difficult system problems, communicating clearly in a distributed environment, and taking ownership of execution without requiring close day-to-day direction.
What you'll get to do...
- Ensure reliability, stability, and performance of Linux-based database systems across on-premises and OpenStack cloud environments
- Troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure, services, and database systems (both relational and NoSQL)
- Deliver infrastructure and operational improvement projects end-to-end, while contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvements
- Automate operational tasks and maintain consistent, scalable environments using Bash and configuration management tools
- Collaborate with global teams across time zones, managing and communicating work through tools like Jira and Slack
Your experience should include...
- 6+ years of demonstrated experience in Linux systems administration (e.g., CentOS, AlmaLinux) with strong troubleshooting skills across system performance, logs, services, and root cause analysis
- Strong understanding of database systems in Linux environments, including MySQL (or variants) and PostgreSQL, with exposure to NoSQL systems such as Apache Cassandra
- Experience supporting infrastructure in on-premises and/or OpenStack-based cloud environments, with the ability to analyse interactions between database behaviour and system performance
- Proficiency in Bash scripting and working knowledge of CM tools (e.g., Puppet) to support consistent and scalable environments
You might also have...
- Experience supporting Apache Cassandra in production
- Experience supporting JVM-based services in production environments
- Experience in large-scale
