Founders Classical Academy Online (FCA Online) is part of the Founders Classical Academies network within the ResponsiveEd family of schools and under the operational partnership through Accel Schools; employment is through Accel.

FCA Online serves students across Texas through a distinctive model combining live classical instruction and independent study within a robust virtual environment.
Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.

Position Summary
The Principal will serve as the instructional and operational leader of Founders Classical Academy Online, working closely with the Head of School and leadership team to ensure academic excellence, faculty development, and fidelity to the Founders mission in a virtual setting. The ideal candidate will bring both classical education expertise and strong administrative experience—balancing a deep understanding of the liberal arts tradition with the practical knowledge of Texas charter school compliance and online education.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and support faculty in the consistent delivery of a classical curriculum aligned to the mission and vision of Founders Classical Academies.
- Oversee curriculum implementation, including Core Knowledge, TEKS alignment, and Texas graduation requirements.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate instructional staff, fostering a culture of mentorship, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with state and district policies, including SPED, 504, MTSS, and other student support services.
- Partner with the Head of School to develop, implement, and monitor school improvement initiatives, academic performance measures, and student success data.
- Support the development and implementation of student discipline and character formation consistent with classical and virtuous education.
- Collaborate with families and staff to cultivate a strong sense of community, transparency, and shared mission in the online environment.
- Oversee daily campus operations, including scheduling, faculty assignments, and communication structures.
- Lead state testing efforts with other operational staff.
- Contribute to the recruitment, onboarding, and development of new teachers and staff as the program grows.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in classical education or liberal arts setting
- Demonstrated administrative or leadership experience (e.g., Dean, Assistant Principal, Department Chair, or Program Director)
- Comprehensive understanding of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), Core Knowledge sequence, literacy programs, and classical literature
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
