About the role

About CookUnity:

Food has lost its soul to modern convenience. And with it, it has lost the power to nourish, inspire, and connect us. So in 2018, CookUnity was founded as the first-of-its-kind platform that connects the world with the source of truly great food: chefs. Today, CookUnity delivers 50 million meals a year from the industry’s best chefs to homes all over the country. Fresh. Ready-to-eat. And crafted with the passion that nourishes body and soul.

Unwilling to stop there, CookUnity is expanding beyond delivery to become an ever-innovating marketplace focused on our singular mission: empower Chefs to nourish the world.

If that mission has you hungry in more ways than one, you’ve found the right job posting.

The role:

You unify CookUnity's workforce data, systems, and operational processes. You build the technical infrastructure that makes people's decisions informed, scalable, and automated. This is an enabler role—not just a doer of all things data and ops, but the architect who ensures the People function has reliable systems, clean data, and efficient workflows.

Unlike traditional People Analytics or Technology roles, you focus specifically on integrating data-driven workforce strategies into core business operations, ensuring that our human capital decisions are informed, strategic, and aligned with our overall business goals. You enable the People Partners to focus on building experiences and coaching leaders by creating the dashboards, automation, and data infrastructure they need to succeed.

Impact on the Organization

  • Data reliability: Leadership trusts people's data and uses it to make strategic decisions
  • Efficient operations: Core people processes (onboarding, performance, headcount planning, mobility, offboarding) are automated and streamlined
  • Compensation accuracy: Pay data is integrated, accurate, and accessible for equity and strategic analysis
  • Scalable systems: HRIS and people tools work together seamlessly and support growth
  • Analytics capability: People team and leaders have dashboards and insights that inform action

Responsibilities:

Data Engineering & Analytics

  • Build and maintain reliable people data systems
  • Create dashboards for key metrics (hiring, attrition, performance, comp)
  • Run workforce analysis (headcount, org design, pay equity)
  • Ensure data quality and surface insights
  • Ensure accurate data flows across tools
  • Enable self-service reporting for leaders

People Operations & Process Design

  • Automate and streamline core processes (onboarding, performance, mobility, offboarding)
  • Design scalable workflows
  • Support compensation cycles and reporting
  • Track mobility, succession, and attrition metrics
  • Use exit data to generate retention insights

Qualifications:

  • Significant years of experience in people analytics, HRIS administration, business analytics, and/or compensation analysis
  • Ability to leverage generative AI to increase output quality and speed
  • Experience with automation tools (n8n, Hex, or similar) and demonstrated ability to build multi-step workflows
  • Ability to write SQL queries or work with data extraction tools to pull reports
  • Curious about the "why" behind data trends, not just the "what."
  • Proactive problem
